So how would Determination work with Leebo?
Would you be able to look at 2 with Leebo's ability and pick one and discard the other. Then have Determination trigger and if the one you choose is a pilot trait discard it?

Edited by Bjorn RockfistPerfectly legal to me.
I actually asked this very same question over 2 weeks ago:
http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/113164-leebo-determination/
there is enough conjecture in the wording that it may not work as we all hope.
A question was sent to the rules advisers at FFG but they appear to be standing by their rule of not discussing rules questions regarding "Unreleased Ships" even though many players from Gencon have the ships in question they still are yet to announce when the ships are actually "released".
Yeah an official answer would be nice. As of now we can only go by timing triggers which would allow Leebo to draw 2 pick one then discard it if it is a pilot trait.

Ah well not that I want to keep 2 threads about the same thing going at once, I would point out as Buhallin did in the other thread that in terms of “Timing” Leebo’s ability specifically tells you to resolve the effect of the chosen critical, this pushes past the point where Determination can have an effect i.e. prior to resolving the effect.
If you resolve Leebos effect fully, by the time determination goes to do its thing straight after, there's nothing there as the crit has already resolved as per Leebos ability wording.

Well, to be exact, Leebo says "choose one to resolve", not "choose one and resolve it". By the wording, it seems you are still in time to apply determination, since the critical is to be resolved, but not resolved yet.
In a similar way of thinking, it may be argued that by using Leebo, you deal a [new] card to yourself after choosing one of two alternatives.
I have to agree with Mace Windo here:
As Determination triggers "When you are dealt a faceup card..", not "When you resolve a faceup card.."
Therefor the window to use Determination would have passed.
if I were to rule this one way or another in a tourney, I'd stick with Leebo's text.. but would anxiously hope for a FAQ on it.

Sergovan has the ruling for this in the first post, but it's down a bit.
Just to copy it here for clarity:
Rule Question:
Leebo's pilot ability and Determination both trigger from when a face up damage card is dealt.
Can Leebo choose one of the two face up cards to keep, and if it is a pilot crit, then discard it using Determination or does the drawn card not count as a card dealt?
Both the initial card dealt and the additional card drawn both count as a faceup damage card being dealt. This does mean that with Determination, he can choose a Pilot trait damage card and then discard it.
lol there is always nitpickers, I just assumed this is how it worked because its awesome
Woah, Leebo tank he could take as much hits as chewie.

If he builds with die cancelation, his odds actually improve.
You see, when enemies attack, hits get canceled before crits. This means that crits have a higher chance of being the damage that gets through when you are able to cancel more dice.
When Leebo+Det comes up against crits, he has a high chance of taking no damage from the crit in question.
