VASSAL XWMG MAP SURVEY

By gabe69velasquez, in X-Wing

I know that some people who are on here are not on teamcovenant.com

but the survey does not require a log in for teamcovenant, just a google account to view the gallery.

I encourage Vassal player to make their opinions heard at this map survey.

I certainly intend to message people who I know use Vassal but may not get the message.

I use Vassal from time to time to satisfy my X-Wing itch between real games. I have downloaded all the map packs and find the selection to be over whelming to say the least. Once you get over a dozen or so options it becomes a mess for me. A vast majority of the maps I have never even seen not alone played a game on. I know a lot of hard work goes into making these map packs and as a creater you will have some attachment to your work. I however would make deep cuts into the number of selectable map options, so it may be best if my vote is not counted.

Actually the purpose is to cut them down, but to decide which to keep is the point of the survey.

see, by deep cuts I would limit it to 3 different styles of each 3x3 and 3x6 for a total map selection of 6 maps to choose from.

I don't know about deep cuts, I think they are going to look at maximum of 20.

And I don't see the point in restricting maps to those two sizes only.

Tournament rules are not the end all be all, there are a lot of casual players on Vassal.

I've figured out how to see the dimensions of the images and the file names in Google. All you have to do is right click and select save as, it will display the file name and almost all of them have the dimensions as the first part of the file name and also the map title.
