Hello everyone, it’s time for the May 2009 SOTG. I know it is a bit late this month, veteran players will tell you that I have a bad habit of this. Don’t believe them

So lets get to it. first off I want to congratulate Daniel Stone for winning the ShadoWar character creation contest, coming up with a very cool fox-spirit character named Ming Lin. Her bio should be up next week. I also want to thank everyone who participated, there were several very good entries which made the final decision difficult for us.

A lot of people have been asking about what cards got reprinted with set 12 as well as when and how they would be available. Of the five reprints two will become tournament legal in June, once prize packs hit the stores. The two cards in question are Cursed Blood and Mark of the Beast. We feel both are great cards for the environment.

Next up, bans! Or in this case I am happy to say there are no bans or errata this month. I’ve read the back and forth on the boards about the usual suspects but we feel like the meta is in a pretty good place right now and we also want to give set 12 a chance to settle in and see how it is going to effect things.

I want to end by thanking everyone who came to the Path of the Master event, it was a blast. We looking forward to having more events there in the future. Congrats to Jon Herr for winning the day. Next stop Origins!

Alright, we got a date on the reprints! Thanks Steve!

So do we get the reprints through league kits or can we get them through FFG seperately . Our store hasn't gotten kits in 6 months so it would be nice to obtain them another way.

YAY!! ^^ I'm thrilled to hear that the reprints will be in standard support... This is going to make it a lot easier for my players to get them since they started playing recently and our store has really bad luck with league kits.

hes trying to state rather descretely that if certain cards do not see either banning or errata's people will be quiting thus the fail of ffg into bankruptcy needing a bail out.

Really the only card I want to see go is owlface since I hate having to put it in every **** deck.

Really, the only card that everyone wants to go is Olcadans, I otlined all my reasons for it to go, but if the guys at FFG feel it needs to stay, I'll live with it, although I can still live in the hope that one day it might leave us

Slightly annoyed not to have your nationals event not recognized when it is 9 days away.

Every time I see a SOTG and the phrase, "we are pleased to say there have been no bans or erratas", I'm reminded of why I have absolutely 0 faith in FFG. That's all, just a personal grudge I hold against FFG, and it extends beyond just the banned list.

Apologies everyone, of course I did not mean to slight the Canadian players. I was talking about where I would see people. LIke I said I am crazy busy right now and I wrote this very quickly in between meetings and it just fell of my radar, like last month when I forgot to mention who won the character contest. Why do people want to assume the worst right away? When have I ever slighted anyone on this list?

Yes. UFS NEEDS a big banned list, and to me, their lack of doing so is stupid. Take for example when Hata joined in. Something like 5-6 cards got banned, and I think 2 got errata. That sorta thing needs to happen ANY time we have the long list of cards we have right now that need to go immensely.

The reason why Combo is so great is that IF you fulfill its requirements, you eat face. But with stuff like Feline, you don't need any cool specifics preceding it; you just win.

Shinji banning is a last resort when a card does to much for the game to coutner or stand up to . Are cards going to be better then others fricking of course . Thats how CCG's work and UFS is such a fast pace game so there will be cards that seem that way always . So just because something does a lot doesn't mean it needs to be banned . Leave that stiff to the game testers and designers and try not to worry about it as much .

You know what, honestly, kitty spike and cobo things are fine, the two cards that I hate with a passion and would like to see gone, are Olcadan's mentoring, and Ira-spinta. sure kitty spike and combo's can kill you, but at least you generally get to play the game, spinta locks you out from playing at all. oh you played some foundations, yea their gone, oh you have no more foundations, yea, no more turn for you, -X to your check, oh you failed cus I spinta'd your foundation base then hacked the #@!king hell out of you. with chun li or seoung mina, its even worse...
