Do you think we will see ships available to both sides for use? Especially seeing as how the rebel ships listed were used by the Imperial Navy too. I ask because I think the Nebulon-B is dead sexy, but can't bring myself to play as rebel terrorists.
Cross Faction Ships?
I think its a future possibility.
I really hope so. The iconic ships should remain faction-locked, of course. Rebel Star Destroyers were very few, and I can't think of one Imperial MonCal. Nebulons, Strikes, and Dreadnoughts were common on both sides. Particularly Nebulons.
Were Strikes really that common in the Alliance fleet? I remembeacksr running into Alliance Strike cruisers a couple of times in TIE Fighter, and recall four or five Alliance Strikes in X--Wing verus Tie Fighter but don't recall seeing Alliance Strike Cruisers anywhere else so I always thought they were very rare in the Alliance fleet.
Then again TIE Fighter is the only source that shows Carrack class Light Cruisers in the Alliance fleet and I strongly believe there were far more Carracks in the Alliance Navy then we see. Carracks have been in service since before the Clone War so I feel that there are enough around for the Alliance to easily find somewhere to obtain them and some probably defected as well...
I don't have a source for Strikes being used by everyone aside from the X-Wing/TIE series of games. However, these seem to be popular places from which to gather information for other games, so I consider it a good source.
The Carrack is old and ubiquitous, as I understand it, so everyone had access to them.
