Dathomir Nightsister

By Danudet, in General Discussion

One of my players want to make a Nightsister for our beta. He has asked me if I had an idea how he would go about creating one. Any ideas how one would create a Nightsister, and is there any precedence canon or otherwise of there being a lightside Nightsister? Regardless, I will still allow him to make one, as long as he calls her Glenda lol.

Well TCW said they don't use the Force but that aside, I would probably aim for Seer and/or Sage, for Mother Talzin, and then probably Hunter for the ones that ran around with their zappy bows.

Two points:

  1. Mystic: Seer
  2. This is awesome.

Is she a good witch? or a bad witch?

One of my players playtested this concept, it was surprisingly sound.

No. While I get the impression that Filoni has fetishized "Nightsisters" and Dathomir in his kids show, the original "fluff" regarding the so-called Nightsisters comes from a novel titled The Courtship of Princess Leia . Oversimplification to follow: The "light side" witches were simply called the Witches of Dathomir , while the "dark side" witches were exiled from the clans and called Nightsisters.

A "light side" Nightsister would be analogous to a "light side" Sith.

Asajj Ventress left the Nightsisters and went to work for Dooku, then later went off on her own and followed her own path.

There's nothing stopping a clever player from roleplaying a Nightsister who left Dathomir for whatever reason and took a different path with their life.

Mystic: Seer and the Universal Spec that has "Intense Focus". You can describe using the Intense Focus talent as Chanting Sorcery before making a Force Power check.

I've run out of likes. I'll be back later.

Mystic/Seer into Sage into Pathfinder. With Force Rating 6, pathfinder can get you your pet Rancor.

Wasn't there a "baby" template in one of the splat books? You could have a baby rancor at FR 4?

Turns out that the facing-the-player Nightsister in the above picture is also a Nightsister who went offworld ... though her story is in the Legends lore (read: no longer canon unless Disney reproduces it).

P.S. Hi FFG_Sam Stewart!

The Force and Destiny Beta books has a little sidebar about how to represent a "Young" version of an animal in the NPC section by weakening it. Don't have it on me but the point was to basically allow a Player to have a pet that they wouldn't normally be able to control. Once they get to a point where they can then the GM can have it "Mature" and go back to it's origional stats.

That was it! Thanks.

Or the much more modest FR 1 version...

Ha! I used this exact image in one of my games to represent a stuffed Rancor chew toy that the PCs came upon after a lengthy treasure hunt. The PC Wookiee who found it was so delighted, she ended up carrying it with her for the rest of the campaign and it became a sort of good-luck-charm/running-gag. Made me really want to get one in real life.
