I would run him without the missiles. I like this idea. I have been running him with opportunist but this might be better.

In the abstract, sure. When compared to the (large) set of alternatives at 37 points in an Imperial list, no.
And again - thats the point.

And there it is, the common refrain to just about every question dealing with the Advanced. There are too many similar and better alternatives.

Particularly with respect to stress.
Considering how things have moved towards arc-dodging Falcons that cancel two dice per round and Imperial ships that defend with 3-4 dice, a 33-point two-dice attacker is still going to have trouble pulling his weight.
Though it is closer to a usable Maarek than anyone else has gotten.
