On another note; why is everyone so hostile towards coming up with a potential fix? I'm aware that I'm not a game designer and that there have likely been threads similar to this in the past.
The problem isn't just that it's come up before, but that it comes up about two or three times a month.
However, house rules happen and who knows who could be looking at the X-Wing official forum.
Given the comment by Alex Davy that TIE Advanced fans should "keep the faith", it would be reasonable to conclude that FFG has a solution in mind and the wild and woolly world just doesn't know what it is yet. And that's really the other problem with these threads: most of the players who are interested in house rules already have one (although I remember one TIE Advanced thread that was derailed by a conversation about whether or not it was ethical to teach house rules to new players), and FFG is unlikely to take inspiration from someone's homebrew fix at this point.
Essentially, it's not the thread itself, but that it's difficult for the forum's 37th TIE Advanced thread to be constructive or even propose anything original. It looks new to you because you're new (and welcome, by the way!), but really it's just the same set of people (including me) chasing each other around in circles.
