Do you tell the players your objective?

By jamesmuia, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I've been wanting to start over with my GF after playing a few rounds last year, but one question I wondered was if you are supposed to tell the hero's/players what your own (Overlord) objective is, or just what their objective is?

Thanks!

Everything in the quest guide (unless otherwise directed - which is rare) is public knowledge. Both players are allowed to read everything for the specific encounter/quest. You shouldn't really be telling her at all, let her read it while you plan your strategy.

Okay thanks for replying. I guess reading the guide is habit from playing HeroQuest back in the day :) I always wondered because it doesn't specifically say at all, so I often wasn't sure.

Thumbs up for HeroQuest! :)

But yea everything is known. It does add a lot of replayability. In Heroquest the campaigns got stale quickly, I still know the first mission by heart and could set the entire map up without the quest booklet. :)

Also if you DO want to add some unpredictability, try making your own quests in the quest vault. All bets are off then. Just try to make it as balanced as you can or all your heroes will be sour with you. ;)
