I really like the Y-Wing too. I think the first list would be quite annoying for the opposition. But maybe find a way to include at least 1 Ion Cannon Turret?

I have never been a big fan of the blaster turret. Spending that focus to use it always felt like a kick in the teeth when I would roll focus on the attack dice.

If I'm not running an Ion Cannon, I'm not running a Y-Wing. Also, IMHO, Horton just is not worth his points at all. I'd Rather Dutch with 2 Goldie's all with Ion Turrets plus a couple of bandits!

Or, if it has to be all y-wings, then add in another Goldie with Ion and have three points left over for R2 droids for most of the squad.

The second list just doesn't look like it would work synergistically. Dutch has to acquire a TL so one of the other ships can benefit from his ability so Dutch wouldn't get a focus so he can't use his blaster turret. You would also be required to sacrifice many small animals to the dice gods so that they will bless your dice considering your dice will be unmodified a very large portion of the time. And with the first list I'd simply be concerned about your damage output. Stress can really mess some ships up but after they shed it I feel like they would come back with a vengeance. I just don't think the flechette torps would put out enough damage for them to be worth it on all four ships.

Is self-immolation an important value of yours? Because running five Rebel Operatives would be more expedient, if that's the case.

...if I'm forced to weigh in on the merits, the latter is probably the better list.

You won't get many hits with a blaster turret on a Y-wing unless you can get 2 focus tokens to fire with it.

Blaster turret without RecSpec just doesn't work well without some sort of action-passing.

Of the two, I like the first list better. Although, since you have two points left over, I'd suggest either adding R2s on the Gold Squadron pilots, or dumping Dutch's Ordinance for an Ion Turret.
