I certainly HOPE this is the case, but unfortunately I doubt it will be THAT good a boost to arc dodgers. But hey, I welcome any reason I can use to bring my interceptors to a tournament and not have to pray I don't get matched with turrets.

One reasonable way to include cards to help fight off 360 arcs is to have a pilot who can onlt be shot at from a primary firing arc.

I think lists like this have two big problems currently:

First, they're overinvested in offense against targets with low or even moderate Agility (Outrider + HLC and Chewie's Gunner cost 17 points, together). You have, fundamentally, two attacks per round; both are strong and accurate, but unless you're shooting at something very dodgy, you're probably paying too much to acquire those two attacks. Consider, for instance, that four X-wings bring better overall durability and (estimating here) about half again the firepower; I would expect Chewie/Dash lists to match up poorly against something as simple as 4x Rookie Pilot + Shield Upgrade.

Second, they're poorly positioned to deal with ordnance lists. I've been saying this around here for a while, but ordnance lists--particularly Jonus lists--are really nasty competitors against Large ships. Dash's destruction is the likely result of attacking him with a Homing Missile from Jonus and two Proton Torpedoes from his wingmen; if he reserves a token to spend on his defense then he's "only" about 30% likely to die (except that I haven't figured in the results of an attack from the TIE Fighter or Interceptor you brought along as your cleanup hitter).

And a list with only two ships is going to really struggle if it loses one of those ships at the bottom of the opening round.

I agree with everything you've said here. Many list handle the duel falcon list and the list i presented is little different than those. I hope I made no indication of it being overpowered or broken, but simply a viable list to be competitive with.

By the way... What if I told you that you can get up to 6 die on that HLC?

With the addition of Opportunist(or expose) and Jan Ors you could get to 6 attack dice on the HLC. I'm not sure by adding in these unnecessary pieces makes the list stronger. What list would you build to get 6 attack dice?

VI on Dash looks pretty strong. High PS + Barrel roll means minimal chance that the target you want to shoot at will get range 1. Super tank Chewy fits right in that squad pretty perfectly. Nice idea.

The problem with Dash+Falcon is that ironically it's bad against other Large Ship builds. Dash + Bandits is better

Yes it is difficult. I should have clarified, I would love to see Dom play the Imperials, since he is so effective herding the cows.

The general strategy is still to use the Lambdas early and up-front, and use your other ship as the closer. Having 2 vs. 3 however means the trap potentially has some leaks.

I've seen the Outrider+HLC in action in two games (and played against it in one of them). The fellow ran Dash + Leebo + Experimental Interface, which was the only thing that saved him from being ion-ed onto an asteroid in one game, however, he had a much more difficult time in the second game where I ran Echo + VI + Gunner + ACD and Kenkrik + Lone Wolf + Mara Jade + Ysanne Isard + Rebel Captive. The stress really shut down his mobility so that's something to watch out for, I even managed to get to Range 1 with the VT49 at least twice. As an aside, I expect Kenkrik + Isard + RC to be a popular VT49 setup, as it's surprisingly resilient.

What good does an Ioning Dash onto an Astroid do? Unless he was stress and ioned, he wold simple barrel roll off it.

Well, the other player had managed to block most of his barrel roll options with two of his ships, and the player flying the Outrider almost sat on the asteroid since he didn't think he could fit the large base with the barrel roll (it was really tight), though at my suggestion he tried, and lo he YT-2400 got off the asteroid.

Disclaimer: I realize this is generally considered bad form, but all three of us were more interested in seeing the new ships and how well they could perform under optimal circumstances since it was a casual game, and not a tournament setting.

With only having 2 ships to perform attacks, I'm not sure the ability to use a Target Lock as a focus helps much. If I use Push The Limit and stress Chewbacca to gain the double action he becomes easier to track and kill. In this high Pilot Skill environment at tournaments having a predictable PS5 ship could be dead in just a few turns.

That combo as suggested could be worth looking into as both shooting at PS9 and both highly offensive. My fear is by not having the fat portion of the Falcon w/C3P-O could leave one ship dead way to early before meaningful damage can be done.

There really are all kinds of ways to build out a YT-2400 with HLC and not even include the Outrider title card. For instants:

Vrill is not limited to the HLC and can use his ability when Tarn stresses out a target for him. For a 5 ships build this could be something worth looking into.

Problem is that a stressed falcon doesn't have a lot of green on it. So an opponent can line up plenty of shots at you next turn. It's one of the few ships where I think PtL should be avoided (especially when you can drop the MF title and PtL for Navigator and VI and generally just not get shot either via clearing their arcs, or bumping intentionally).

Nice, similar to some lists I've got written down. 2 x FCS cows is really fun, especially when the cows get into chasing position. They are pretty great with Phantom or Interceptor support, I bet they are even better with an extremely durable turret!

I also like Determination on Kenkirk. VI doesn't add much for PS 8, nor does Adrenaline Rush have any use, so for the last pt, it is the right EPT choice.

I should also add, you'll be surprised at how many opponents will set up the shuttles FOR you. It's actually much harder to avoid their kill zone than it looks. Ive certainly been on both the giving and receiving end of the herd, and without boost and a turret, it can be rough.
