Up until now, I have been the one showing my friends how to play the game and while we had a lot of fun, I'm afraid that no one had gotten hooked in the process. Thanks to some hardcore digging, I found an X-Wing group and am about to play with them tomorrow (yay!) but I have some concerns about mixing up some stuff. It did not really matter when I was the one providing everything, but that's a bit different when more than one set is ont he table.

So do you guys use anything to mark your pieces? I was thinking of buying a cheap labelling machine and print out a few labels for my manoeuvering dials if nothing else (those tend to move around a lot).

One way to ensure your pieces stay with you is the color them. You can get any color sharpie and mark the edges of your set. This way when all the pieces are on the table you can quickly identify your tokens from you opponent.

If you can't do this there still is little reason for concern. It does not get very confusing as to who's is who's.

I don't really see the problem. Everything you own should stay on your half of the table, aside from the ships. Just make sure you get your squad back at the end and it won't be an issue

Maybe put a colored dot on the plastic parts of your maneuver dials.

I know some players who spray-paint all of their pegs and ship bases (one paints them black, one paints them bright yellow -- they both look great on the table).

I went with red edging on all my stuff, we also have a player doing green, another doing blue and a final one who just put gold dots on everything. it makes a huge difference

I do the 'color the edges' method myself for all of my dials, token, and templates and I have found my own stuff in other people's boxes.

All by accident, but it is a huge help if you let a lot of people borrow your stuff!

Well, I found a pack of color coding labels during my lunch hour (very small colored circles), so I'll stick these on the plastic part of my manoeuvering dial (which is the most important piece that I do not want to lose). I'll probably use the "color the edges" method as well on the other tokens, but I'll see what measures these guys use first. Would be a shame if all of them had the same color to begin with

This is exactly what my friend does. The small colored dots fit perfectly on the dials, so he can spot them at a glance, and he place one in the corner of each card, and in the firing arc of each Cardboard base insert, as well as the bottom of each plastic base.

I've been meaning to do the same (as well as painting my cardboard edges as suggested above), but am just far too lazy.
