Farlander's kind of a jerk if you think about it.

Yeah, concussion missiles destroyed the core, and those probably were fired by Lando. Or maybe by Nien Nunb? Is Nien Nunb the mass murderer of civilians?

Knowing there was a battle coming, I'm not sure how many civilians would have been underfoot at Endor.

I was talking about the civilians on the Death Star.

Yup, each Death Star had tens of thousands of non-military personnel. Just people working for the Empire who never did anything wrong. Then there are the thousands of construction crews who died on the Second Death Star. Thousands of innocents dead in an instant.

I would think there would be a lot of families pissed off at the Rebellion after that. The civil war would never end.

I'm sure quite a lot people believed the imperial propoganda that jedi were evil and the rebellion was evil but I'm sure there were also people who had firsthand experience with the tyrany of the empire, particularly non-humans.

Tell it to the billions on Alderaan

i thought you guys were actually gonna talk about how powerful the stress = focus was.

actually, i think that farlander gets a few extra points slapped on him, so it balances out...

Sorry about that I can be serious too. It is a mechanic I am dying to use as soon as rebel aces become available to me. One of the crazy things is in situations like my afforementioned shuttle/rebel captive, it actually uses your oppenents upgrade card against them. I haven't seen anything quite like that happen in this game so far.

Marksmanship Sensor Jammer. Although it's not actually going to ever happen.

Soontir Fel gets a free focus from Rebel Captive.

And Ibitisam gets a free reroll on defense dice!

On attack, too. The stress happens as soon as the attack is declared, making it immediately usable before dice are even rolled.

Tell it to the billions on Alderaan

I will!

They need to add a title to him like "Farlander, Black Op Specialist" or "Farlander, Silencing Snitches"

snitches get stitches after all...

Yeah those civilians.

Guy 1 - Oh look the empire is making contracts to see who wants to build a big ass space station.

Guy 2 - Have you ever wondered why it is called the Empire ?

Guy 3 - Why does it look like the space station that destroyed Alderaan ?

Guy 4 - What happened to that space station ?

Guy 5 - Who cares, keep working.

In addition to:

"Hey contractors, we're building this mega war machine in the middle of no-where. There's a shield generator nearby that will keep us safe. Probably won't need it, we're not really a target. The destruction of the first, finished one, by a small group of rebels was a fluke, no way that's happening again. Just because their political support has made massive gains in the last few years as a result of their success against Imperial superweapons in no way means that this one is on their priority list. Alright, who wants a job?"

I thought there were quite a bit of genosians and wookiee slaves building the death stars as well

Tell that too the 2 million on the Death Stars. Tell that too all the people who were killed in the war. Because guess what? The Rebels started it.

If you want to say that, talk about Luke blowing up the whole second Death Star, when it had thousands of innocent civilians on board.

Luke didn't blow it up. Lando did.

Oh, sorry. Also, i find it kinda lucky that there just happened too be a MILLENIUM FALCON sized hole in it.

Don't you remember?

I remember reading somewhere that in the original ending, they didn't actually make it out & blew up with the Death Star but the test audience meltdown was enough to make Lucas reshoot the ending... Too bad the same test group didn't get to see the bit about midichlorians before it was too late.

They cover this on clerks. But basically you spend your time building a planet killing super weapon, you should expect to come under fire.

As for far lander, I excited to have a pilot who wants to be stressed.

Rebel propaganda. The Empire didn't use slaves - we saw both the first Death Star operational, as well as the second actually under construction. How many Wookie/Ewok/etc slaves did you see? Slave camps, even? None!

Don't trust the Rebel lies...

Actually there was a pretty interesting book out awhile back, titled 'Death Star', that followed the lives of 6 people on the DS1. A stormtrooper, a bartender, a prisoner, a doctor, and a few others. They also interweave the story with ANH. The stormtrooper is part of those chasing Han & co. at one point but is feeling conflicted. He "accidentally" closes the blast doors allowing them to escape and trapping the troopers he is with temporarily, prompting one of his companions to famously yell in the background...

"Open the blast doors! Open the blast doors!"

The bartender is a woman and her whole bit is feeling conflicted about working on a military base but it's good money (captive audience). You also see all the Imp propaganda as they get confused about what exactly they're doing. For those of you into using prequel ships, at one point the DS1 is attacked by Rebels using a captured Droid Control ship from the Clone Wars. They, um, get their asses kicked. Even if you don't care for the books, it's a neat read because you see all this background. And they interweave it with ANH really well. TK421 makes a brief appearance I think ("TK421, why aren't you at your post?"). Shoot. Now I want to reread it...

Why feel bad about blowing up "civilians" who willingly worked on a recreation of a battle station single-handedly responsible for destroying an entire planet and erasing billions of lives?

Anyone voluntarily present on the Death Star II knew and accepted the risks.

This seems rather fitting
