What's the use of the Intelligence Agent?

By Intys Rule, in X-Wing

I cannot think of how the Intelligence Agent crew card would be useful... As the Activation phase has started, you can't change your dials anyway so you can't really adjust any of your moves to suit, even if you are looking at a ship with a higher PS.

Has anyone ever used this guy before?

Knowing where an opposing ship will be before you take actions is very useful. Especially if you have a barrel roll or boost.

Wouldn't it help you decide where to barrel roll or boost to?

Or if you have someone with Navigator too.

Hmmm... I guess this is more important for lower-PS pilots? I'm used to flying Interceptors and Phantoms with named pilots so I have high PS and move later/last.

If you feel like being a bit of a troll, you can combine Intelligence Agent, Navigator and Anti-Pursuit Lasers to create the world's single most annoying blocker. When the Activation Phase starts you use the Agent to check the dial of an enemy ship, then use Navigator to make sure you end up in its path, then hand out damage with the Lasers when the enemy overlaps you.

Correct. If you have higher PS than your opponent across your entire squadron it is useless.

yeah, put for lower level lists to get better choice of actions. and barrel rolling dumb ties into place haha.

He's also reeeeeallly helpful as fodder for Moff Jerjerrod.

"You there! THROW YOURSELF INTO THAT MINOR HULL BREACH! I demand it!"

I love that one of my creations is still bandied about as infuriating. :D

Moff Jerrejod likes to throw them into airlocks?

Yes, yes, he really does.

But I ran it during the Imdaar tourney, and it was glorious.

Give her to Whisper in case of Roark/ Elites with VI.

high PS Phantons also benefit from knowing where the opponnent will move. Makes the decloak choice more deadly

Well, I figured high PS Phantoms will see where they move anyway, so I can decide the decloak option then. No sense in spending points for the Intelligence Agent.

It'll also work well with Stay on Target--especially on Farlander. His middling PS will be largely circumvented with it.

sigma pilots like it alot, helps them decloak to with block or evade, and just generally be a nuisance

Wow, that's an expensive blocker. With 2 evade.
