Looking for a pattern, I put together all the release dates for X-Wing and the expansions. It looks like the next announcement won't be until Jan or Feb 2015.

Imperial Aces were definitely not announced in January. They were supposed to be out before last Christmas originally.

Yeah imp aces were announced in September or October 2013 tops

Besides, using Wave 1 and 2 as data for a prediction is not useful. The production pipeline has radically changed since then.

I'm leaning towards them announcing something at Worlds.

A Worlds announcement seems likely. Last few major releases they have announced the next one just before the current one drops. IE Rebel Aces announced right before Imperial Aces, Wave 5 announced right before Wave 4 dropped, Wave 6 right before Wave 5 drops. Hey, there may be another stand alone box announced in the coming weeks before Rebel Aces hits the shelf.

So maybe there'll be another announcement next month for an early Q1 2015 release?

If my guesses on FFG's "ideal" release schedule on there are correct, then they point to early next year too.

With Armada, Wave 6, and Imperial Assault coming up I think that X-wing may have a bit more before another release (except for possibly Imperial huge ships, which frankly with Armada coming out I would rather not have an 60-80$ model to buy just for a handful of crew and/or new pilots)

When is Worlds?

I don't think they've ever done any product announcements at Worlds. But I'm not 100% sure.
