So if I have a Daring Assualt Squad and attach a Gun Drone to the Assualt Squad, is the Area Attack value 4 or is it 2 x Area Attack 2?
Stacking Area Effect abilities
See page 9 Keywords. They are cumulative so it would be 4. Example on page 9 also uses AoE.
Also note that AoE is not an attack.
Edit: that is page 9 of the Rules Reference Guide.
Edited by ToqtamishMy guess is neither. You have two different area attack (2) options, one of which you may use at a time as a substitute for your normal attack.
Never mind, toq beat me with an actual rules reference :-P
O.o Seriously? Wow, my love for Tau just grew three sizes. I may need new pants.
tau plus SM ally = good times.
Fire Warrior: "Wow, nice Bolter!"
SM: "Wow, nice ion rifle...wanna share?"

Follow-up...what happens when Nazdreg is at a planet with another Ork who has Brutal printed? Is that Orc Brutal+Brutal? so with 1 damage on him he'd be attack +2?

No Brutal is not a numerative keyword, it simply gets Brutal not Brutal (1) or Brutal (2) etc.

Oof...only numerals in keywords stack? That's a pretty fine distinction...bleah, not very intuitive at all. Similarly, that "sacrifice =/= destroy" rule is a bit nit-picky. But it is what it is, I guess.
I don't agree at all.
Brutal + Brutal still means you are Brutal. Same as Bald + Bald doesn't make you more bald lol
That is why the numbers are added to those that do stack. Easily distinguish.
Same with sacrifice vs destroy. Look at it this way, all humans are animals but not all animals are human.

Cards are considered to have a keyword or to nothave that keyword. A single card that has and/or isgaining the same keyword from multiple sourcesfunctions as if it has one instance of that keyword. The value pertaining to numerative keywords doesaccumulate, however. For example: a card with“Area Effect (1)” that is gaining “Area Effect (2)”would function as “Area Effect (3).”The keywords in the game are: Ambush, Area Effect,Armorbane, Bloodied, Brutal, Flying, Immune, Limited,Mobile, No Attachments, and Ranged. Each has an entryin this glossary.
So, really, the rule should be "Area Effect stacks" because none of the others have numbers, yes? (I suppose there could be a new keyword with a number in the future...)
You pretty much answered yourself but yes that would have been limiting potential future game space by making the rule like that. This allows the potential for future numerative keywords. Same thing exists in SW.
