Decimator Questions

By shaner, in X-Wing

Side note I would not get terribly attached to a ramming strategy because of the Falcon lists that are out there is a potential that many of them try adding APLs to discourage ramming, it isn't guaranteed damage like Oicunn, but it will still add up on a ship with 0 agility

But it DOES guarantee you don't take near guaranteed damage from a Falcon with Gunner. However, you then cannot attack the Falcon, so admittedly, its not a FAST strategy. Unless you can get some damage on his flankers and hopefully kill one or more, you'll still likely lose the Decimator before the MINIMUM rounds it takes to destroy a Falcon from the Ramming damage, assuming no mistakes. Three damage per two rounds, 13 damage. 13/3 is 4.5x2. Nine rounds? Am I mathing right? Probably not hugely competitive, but probably fun!

With 0 agility even at range 3 with Isard, I don't foresee a gunner activating frequently (unless your opponent is flying Han and really likes to gamble)

No no, I meant that if you are chipping away at the Falcon with ramming damage, he can't attack you. Only reason I even included Gunner in the statement is because its so popular and is often needed to guarantee damage over the course of a game, but you're probably right, it wouldn't be necessary against a Decimator.

who do you think wins? a decimator or a fat han?

Seems to be either 60 or 61 points (predator or EU) with 3 talas usually.

Han

Luke

C3po

MF title (57)

So... decimator builds for 60 points?

I still think my decimator build sounds more efficient than the daredevil build: that costs: 2 dauntless, 3 daredevil, 4 engine upgrade to do 1 more damage and take two stresses...

Captain Oicunn (42)
Ruthlessness (3)
Ysanne Isard (4)
Rebel Captive (3)
Gunner (5)
Total: 57
Also... i just noticed this... but i think ions are going to be the counter to the decimator.
