Going to a "furball" tournament this weekend, looking for build advice. The matches are a 40 pt limit, I'm required to use one named pilot, or a named pilot with up to 2 wingmen. It's a four person free-for-all, on a standard 3x3 board with 12 asteroids. Points are awarded according to number of hits scored in the round, rather than just kills. My collection is in my signature, I also have access to all of the rebel cards my brother has (which is all of them). Any ideas? I would like to something phantom/defender-y, but there aren't enough points for HLC on the defender and the phantom has some trouble with the 12 asteroids.
Tourney Ideas
Echo, VI, FCS, ACD, and a 3pt crew is 40 points, jus' sayin'. I'd use Rebel Captive, mostly to encourage people to go after someone else first.
I do love Echo, I just am wary of trying to decloak on a double-asteroid board. I may just need to practice more ![]()
I would maybe go Rexlar with Predator or Vader with Shield Upgrade, Outmaneuver and a 4pt missile(or Hull upgrade/Stealth Device and a 5point missile) I would suggest an Engine upgrade for Vader but if you don't have a Falcon there isn't much you can do on that front
A Phantom will probably be the first target that everyone gangs up on so it probably isn't the best idea
Tarn with R7 and a bandit with ion pulse missle.
Ugh sorry when you said cards i thought you also meant ships.

Going just for hits as a score? Fly something with 3 agility and people won't want to shoot at you because they aren't as likely to "score". Vessery + VI + Stealth Device. Push it up to 4 agility just to further discourage them. They'll find more tempting targets and you can poach off other people's target locks.

In San Diego? Can't make it to that one, if it's the same one.
Defenders can't turn easily without stressing, phantom you balked at because of practice and the asteroid field. What about Soontir Fel with PTL Stealth Royal Guard TIE and Shield upgrade? Few points shy of 40, but that's the a very squirrelly ship right there.
