I dont own everything so may have missed this but...

Most actions seem to have an upgrade card to allow them to be fitted to ships that dont have them

Target lock - targeting computer, engine upgrade - boost, the manouvrebility one for barrel roll...

Does any card grant 'evade' to a ship?

Small fighter particularly?

The Ysanne Isard Crew gives a free Evade action (when the prerequisites are fullfilled).

You could, alternatively, throw Threepio in a B-Wing, though the effect isn't quite the same.

cool, just spent two games thinking on more than one occasion how frustrating the lack of evade was.

Swapping out my Y wing in my XXY list for a HWK with Jan Ors might retain that ion cannon but give me that evade when i need it too....

I'm losing the 'tank' of a y wing and dutchs target locks but its focus city....

As a modification, for small ships? No.

Right now, for Rebels, you can use any ship with the Copilot upgrade and have Jan Ors (copilot) equipped. This will allow you to sub Evade tokens for Focus for friendly ships, once per turn.

As well, the HWK is a small ship, and you could put Lando (copilot) inside - he gives a chance of getting Evade or Focus tokens.

Jan Ors the Pilot doesn't give you an evade. Jan Ors the Crew does.

Easy to fix, i was just doing that off the top of my head really.

If i drop wedges shield upgrade, i can take Jan as crew (with rebel aces) and still have two points left, probably a EPT or a astomech for Garvin.

With the forthcoming upgrades in Rebel Aces, you could put Jan in a B-Wing and keep your "tankiness."

i don't know whether the crow being able to stack focus tokens might be more useful though?

Personally, I'd go for the focus option myself.

Lando Crew on an HWK or B-Wing coudl give you a CHANCE at an evade.

That Jan Ors crew is very versitile, since if you put her in a HWK or B-wing alongside your X-wings, you can turn focus into evades for your X-wings. Add Garven or Kyle for more versatility in evade applications and timing.

You do realize that you cannot put Jan Ors crew on the Jan Ors piloted HWK, right? If you use the Jan Ors crew, you cannot use the Jan Ors pilot in your list. Both are unique, and can only one of them can be used at a time.

I only mention this because if you just drop the shield upgrade and add jan ors crew and are saying you have 2 points left, it doesn't sound like you have also changed the jan ors pilot. Jan Ors pilot is 4 points more expensive than the next most expensive HWK, Kyle Katarn. So if you downgrade Jan Ors Pilot to Kyle Katarn pilot and add Jan Ors crew, you actually won't need to drop Wedge's shield and will still have saved 2 point. Or course you will lose the Jan Ors pilot ability, which could be important to your list.

But Jan (crew upgrade) on Kyle (pilot) seems to be exactly what he needs. This synergy means you can choose to grant an evade token to one of your friendly X-wings, rather than a Focus.
