Got my Decimator yesterday, the paintjob is unreal

By Darth Ruin, in X-Wing

Let's have a look at Captain Oicunn's ship. Look at that subtle off-grey colouring. The subtle thickness of it. Oh my god, it even has no wash marks.

The paintjobs have seen marked improvement (Noticeable in Wave 3->Wave 4) but the Decimator takes it to a whole new level. It's the first ship I feel a repaint would do a disservice to. I'd put on some squadron markings and maybe blood stripes but out of box it's probably one of the best painted ships (Tantive being one of them).

Thank you faceless sweatshop worker. You are an artisan who will remain unknown to history.

On an unrelated note putting all my Imperial ships together results in a weird mismatch of colours. It's 4-5 shades of Imperial grey. The TIEs are different grey to the blue-grey of Defenders and Phantoms, who are a darker shade of blue-grey than Interceptors. I think I'm going to have to repaint them all to match the Decimator grey and give them all Squadron+Kill markings.

My Corvette is covered in splash stains like it was parked by the side of the road in the rain.

some close up pictures would be nice....

*Claims paintjob is superb, doesn't post pictures.*

I confess, I *AM* sort of annoyed they didn't standardize on a single color for the Empire's ships.

I mean, looking at the fleets...the *Rebels* have a more consistent color/look than the Empire does, and that...that just ain't right.

It could be justified to be reflecting de different light condition in space depending how close or obstructed the system star is... but yes some standardisation would give a much more "mass manufacturing" imperial fell.

Indeed all my TIE/ln ships are classic 'tie blue/grey/ we're used to.

Both of the same ship my friend Sam has are almost white like ANH ones when they had blue screen problems.

We need picks we don't all have friends who'll travel to a convention and Que up hours for us, some of us have really lousy friends with something called a life.

What is a life anyway sounds disgusting.

don't know Hobo, but it sounds horrrrrrrrible.. [shivers]

Pretty sure they all have that, and it was probably deliberate.

Apparently it's something that folks that don't play X-Wing seem to indulge in.
