What is an Object and Person?

By Jamwes, in General Discussion

Are the terms "object" and "Person" defined in FnD (or any other Core book)?

Is an object anything? Any non-living thing? Any non-person?

Is a person anything living? Do creatures count as a person? How about droids?

The reason why I ask is the following. Move Object says that it moves, well, objects. Misdirect makes a target "unable to perceive a chosen person or object". Is this intentional to say that Move Object can't pick up a Stormtroopers becuase it doesn't mention persons? Or is anything an object and they wanted to call out persons in specific for Misdirect?

In the first case, I think "object" is used as a catchall. You could conceivably use Move Object to pick up Stormtroopers, but I think the level of your ability dictates the silhouette of what you can move. I only got the chance to thumb through the beta recently and I'm away from it right now.

Misdirect is specific, since your motivation for hiding a person is probably somewhat different from hiding an object. Again, I think it depends on how far into the tree you've bought. But for the most part, I think they're meant to be interchangeable.
