There is a poster here who lives in my area (I saw him on a Google map) and I would like to contact him to play some games. Is there any way to private message on these forums?

The only way to "pm" another member is to invite them as your friend. First off, the Invite itself is a PM, and then after that if they accept your offer you can go to your Friends page and PM that person.

PMs under this board are more a Private feature, than a public one. You can not just public PM anyone at any time; you can only PM a Friend.

I figured out how to add him to my friends list but how can I contact him? Every time I try to PM him I get this error message:

Might be one of a few problems. Top two that I can think of would be that either he hasn't accepted your invite yet, or his email server might be done. Or FFGs.

It's not a great system, but so far it's all we got.
