Question to FFG

By Wetaas, in Star Wars: Armada

Hello

And thanks again for making a great game. I as many other fans is super exited about this game, and are now preordering this game.

Me and many other fans are thinking if we gonna buy 2 core set or one core set.

The question here is will you release the three capital ships in the core set as separate ships to buy. Or will it not be possible to get more of the same capital ships unless you buy a second core set.

I hope you will be able to reveal this secret to your devoutet fans :-)

FFG do not post on the forums so you will not get an answer. However, I'm fairly certain they will release ships from the core set separately (as they do in X-Wing) - they would be stupid not too really.

And they are likely to have different cards/captains/pilots/etc. than the core set, similar to X-Wing.

They said as much in one of the Q&A's I believe. It makes sense to do so, because then you buy more models which means more money for FFG.

But that also means there's less reason to buy 2 core sets, since you will be hard pressed to fit 3 VSD's in a game, and you'll already have 2.

Thanks for the replies. It was as i thought. I will pre order one core set and wait until the release.

Then i will see what is available/Released...:-)

This is truely a game Worth buying multiple ships..:-)

3 VSD 225 pts.

Commander 25pts-ish

5 tie fighters 45 pts.

leaves me 5 pts for an upgrade right?

Now I'm not saying that's going to be an effective fleet, but I'm sure going to field it :)

Who knows, it might be, but as I said in the Two Core thread, the way they talked about it in the TC demo it didn't sound like it.

But even if it's not that effectively that doesn't mean you shouldn't use it... A fun fleet that doesn't win all the time can be better then one you don't like playing but does win.

Well, the flip side is that it is actually CHEAPER to buy an X-Wing Starter than three boosters! Starters are always a great deal; I expect it will be the same for Armada.

What you WILL get in an expansion pack, though, are new cards & greeblies.

Not sure if I'm sold on this game, but were I to get invested I'd buy two Starters and then expansions for the Corvette & Nebulon-B.

I'd recomend that you check out my post two core or not two core to see why that may not be the best idea.

Mate, if I worked for FFG I would suggest that 2 core stes is not enough and you should buy more. Many more.
