Scum and Villainy Most Wanted Expantion Question

By rabarno, in X-Wing

Dear Fantasy Flight Games,

I noticed that the Most Wanted Expansion comes with an extra Y-Wing dial, Firespray-31 dial, and a HWK-290 dial decked out for the Scum and Villainy faction. Since it does come with reprinted Rebel ships, are you going to add in a Y-Wing and 2 Headhunter dials for the Rebels as well?

Thank You!

No because there is no base insert and not rebel cards. Sorry

I do find the choice a little strange for new players coming in after the release of Most Wanted. For the first time you will be able to own pilot cards, ship templates and dials with no ship to go with them. This could be a little odd for the new comers.

Maybe, but I think the pros far outweigh the cons on this decision.

It's a conversion kit to let you use Scum and Villainy, not a set of rebel ships. They are being nice by giving us double Y-wings and all people are doing is complaining they aren't getting enough stuff.

"There's no pleasing some people"

"That's just what Jesus said, sir"

This is not a "starter kit" It's an expansion/conversion kit

I never called it a starter kit. Just pointing out there are cards in the expansion that may not be of any use to the buyer.

FFG has always done this in all their ships/expansions. For example; The interceptors main card of choice that makes it amazing is PTL, but you get the card not in the Interceptor expansion but the A-Wing/Imp Aces.

I have no problem with FFG for doing this. It's a clever marketing ploy, and they after all are trying to keep the $$ coming in so they can push out more product.

Are they going to sell scum versions of the Y-wing and z-95 separately or are they only going to be sold as a set?

It's not really double Y wings. If you dont have the dials/tiles to fly two of them together in a squad its just another ship for a different faction.

Has there been any official word from FFG about the S&V dials not being able to be fielded by their Rebel/Imperial counterparts and vice versa? Obviously the tiles wouldnt be re-used, but the dials will likely be the same ship to ship.

Possibly, but probably not anytime soon.

I would assume so, but they may do it at a later time to see how many wanted kits can be sold first.

So do the Scum and villany go with either Rebel or Imperial Factions or are they their own faction group. So instead of fighting imperials you could fight the scum and villany? Or do they make it like bounty hunters who will work for any one. Sorry for the question Im still a newbie here. Trying to get it down only played less than 3 weeks.

Most Wanted does not equip you to use the ships for the Rebels. It contains two Z-95s and a Y-wing + requiste cards plus "conversions" (everything but the mini) for a second Y-wing, a Firespray and a HWK. It does not appear to contain Scum to Rebel converts.

Its a brand new 3rd faction and is not and never should be considered as an expantion for rebels or imperials although some cards will be usable by all factions just like any other expansion. My advice is to read the full news release as this should answer all of your questions as that is the sum of known information regarding Scum at this point.

Thanks for the advice on this appreciate it.

So hypothetical question...

I own one z-95. Let's say I buy the most wanted pack. Now I have three z-95s.

I field a rebel list that has a bandit and cracken. I have the cards, ships and bases pieces for it, however one dial is rebel and one dial is scum, would it be tourney legal?

Why would anyone want to play auto-pilot flying terrorists rebel scum?

I've been wondering the same about the firespray. Not that I've ever played in a tournament other than on vassal, but I might.

Actually I think this could be a good opportunity for an enterprising newcomer to the game. I'm sure it would not be hard to sell off your extra Y-Wing dials/etc on ebay to those veterans who have extra Y-Wings but no S&V dials.

Yeah, we don't know yet. It's possible that the dials may not even be the same between factions... I wouldn't be surprised if FFG ruled that you had to have the dials to match your faction.

However, we X-Wingers tend to be a friendly bunch. I bet you wouldn't have much trouble finding someone at the tournament who would loan you a S&V dial to use for the tourney. I read a Gen-Con report where one player let another borrow a whole swarm's-worth of TIE fighters because the latter guy's ships were with his girlfriend stuck in traffic.

The Z95's are painted indentically, correct?

I have been getting 6 of all the small ships, but getting 6 of this set might be a bit much to get hold of 6 of these y-wings...

Becomes problematic, when You cannot buy an expansion, becouse it's out of stock. Like interceptor is.. for months.

PTL came with the A-wing because FFG thought it went best with the A-wing: it even depicts one and has crazy synergy with Tycho. The Interceptor got Daredevil. Advsensors is famed on B-wings but it comes on the Shuttle which needs it just as much if not more. This isn't marketing tactics, it's FFG putting upgrades with ships they think suit them.

When FFG realised how much PTL and the Interceptor went together they put PTLs in Imperial Aces.

Where r u? We seem to have nothing but hwks and interceptors for days around here.

In regards to the extra Y-Wing dial... After looking longingly at the preview on the FF website for the last week I've just noticed something. The picture clearly shows two Y-Wing maneuver dials but the list of contents says - "Maneuver dials and tokens for your Scum Firespray-31, HWK-290, Y-Wing and Z95 Headhunters". Yep... Y-Wing singular. I'm thinking that it might be a mistake on the part of whoever laid out the bits for the photo and that the box will only include the one Y-Wing dial. Sort of makes sense when you look at what else you get. It might also explain why you only get the dials for the two Z-95's included in the box and no extra one's.
