Just wondering whether something like Ataru's Saber Swarm, which grants your weapon the Linked quality equal to your Force Rating is reduced in effectiveness if you've committed some Force dice to some other effect. I know that the language for Commit indicates that you're basically reducing your FR, but it seems odd to me that it would work that way for something like this.

The way I read it is that your effective FR is total FR minus committed dice. So a FR of 3 and two committed dice means that everything that refers to FR is at 1.

Good question. It says in the description for committing force dice that it effectively lowers your force rating, so judging by that verbiage alone, I would say yes, it does.
It also makes narrative sense because it splits your focus.

Yes it is reduced effectiveness if you commit a force die to something else your force rating is temporarily lowered by that much.
Okay. That's what I figured. Guess I won't be picking up much of Sense, or the bottom talents of Enhance on my Ataru Striker...at least not until I hit a much higher Force rating.
