Missing Concussion Missile "cone" on VSD

By klyver, in Star Wars: Armada

Correct me if I am wrong, but in the TIE Fighter flight sim...VSDs had two "cones" near the bridge that launched concussion missiles. Why is it that the sculpt for this only has one? Am I missing something?

Most depictions of the Victory have only one cone, TIE Fighter is the exception here. Probably because modeling half the ship and then mirroring the first half was easier.

The problem is that, when the depictions where created, there was only a side view of the craft provided by West End Games. This created several anomalies, like:

  • Victory Star destroyers having antenna on either side of the bridge (TIE Fighter), but there was only one (Canon)
  • The Victory wings were split and going away from the hull (TIE Fighter), but really they taper and there's only one wing on each side (canon)
  • Interdictors having four hemispheres, a bulb on the superstructure and the reactor bulb (TIE FIghter), versus eight separate hemispheres (canon)
  • System Patrol craft were pudgy thick things (TIE FIghter), but modern depictions show them being flatter and wider (canon).

If only VSDs were cheaper. I can imagine buying one to modify into the TIE Fighter depiction.
