Scum & Villainy Huge & Epic
I want and hope for the Star Jewel. It's the right size, it's got the right look for the faction, and it doesn't stand out horribly from existing ships.
Most importantly perhaps, is that it is the personal ship of Jabba the Hutt, arguably the most well known character of the faction (movie-wise, Boba Fett spent half his short time working for the Empire and the other half working for Jabba), and in a lot of ways can be seen as the faction leader (as much as can be true of such a faction).
I feel it also gets bonus points from being introduced in Dark Forces, the first in a series that unsurprisingly seems to be a favorite of FFG's.
Didn't it also Tractor Beam in the Moldy Crow? It would be one way of introducing Tractor Beams. I'd love it if they could reference Kell Dragons as well, but I'm not really sure how in the context of this game unless they were something you could sic on ships that you've Tractor'd close. ;P

This ship is growing on me, but alas it won't be a huge ship unless FFG makes it on two bases, which they won't.

Since they are MelMiniature's photos I was just going to post his card with them, but I got to thinking...

So then count this one out.
Personally I think pirates would and do have large and capital ships - bring on the armed pleasure cruisers and obsolete destroyers - but your reference was specifically captured Lancer- and Carrack-class ships, which I would not consider common for pirates but we're allowed to disagree. A themed list or expansion based on the idea of well-equipped S&V force would be interesting though.
The Action VI, Bulk Freighter, E-2 Mining vessel, Minstrel-class yacht, Mobquet transport, Modular Conveyor, and the Xiytiar transport are all in the same size class as the CR90 and perfect for scummy pirate Q-ships. The Lady Luck et al was me mixing up Large and Huge because I was tired. Sorry.

E-2_asteroid_mining_vehicle - Length: 110 meters
This thing is creepy looking, but the Marauder Starjacker's plasma drills would be a cool new weapon.

Mobquet_medium_transport - Length: 113 meters
This has great potential as a Q-ship with a variety of firing arc emplacements. And quite Q-ship-like the Turbolasers retract.

Modular Conveyor - Length: 126.8 meters
This is a cool find, as far as Q-ships go, there's a lot of EU history to choose from.

Xiytiar-class Transport - Length: 164.8 meters
As far as Q-ships go this one has a lot of potential for variant customization like the CR90 should have been.
List of Bulk Freighter Classes.
- A-class bulk freighter - 800 meters
- Action IV transport - 100 meters
- Action V transport - 115 meters
- Action VI transport - 125 meters
- BFF-1 bulk freighter - 120.9 meters
- Brayl-class bulk freighter - 100 meters
- Class VI bulk freighter - 180 meters

Petty people complain about the looks of the DP20 Gunship,
I think both Rebel and Imperial players outright fear Scum getting one;
they criticize it because they desperate for Scum not have something
that is so much more ferocious that what Rebels & Imperials have.
It's looks have never mattered to me, the highlight for me is it's teeth,
it having three times the armament of the CR90.
It's slightly smaller but it's faster and packs a bigger punch.
DP20 Armament
Double turbolaser cannons (8)
Quad laser cannons (6)
Concussion missile launchers (4)
30 concussion missiles each, standard load
CR90 Armament
Dual turbolaser turrets (2)
Single turbolasers (4)

When I read the third book of the Thrawn Trilogy I noticed a pair
of them were used by pirates to attack an Imperial shipyard.
Here is just a few named ships:
• The Dark Revenge was a DP20 frigate that was used by the pirate organization Dharus' Buccaneers during the time of the Galactic Civil War.
• The Loose Cannon was a DP20 frigate operated by a group of privateers known only by the name of this vessel.
• The Sable II was a Corellian gunship commandeered by the pirate Karn Granzor. It was destroyed in battle with the Anto's Star which was manned by former crewmembers of Sable II.
•The Slader's Raider II was a DP20 frigate that was owned and operated by the pirate and smuggler Roark Slader during the early years of the New Republic.
• The Gunship was the name of Niles Ferrier's personal DP20 frigate.

You just have to imagine the potential.

You reminded me of these poll results from here.
With the Gozanti off the list, that makes the DP20 more likely.
18% of the votes that could have gone to a different ship anyway.
FINAL RESULTS
Minstrel-class space yacht..............30% (67)

Definitely. And that reminded me of this cool
video that, even though that's a Rebel fleet,
shows how common the were.
The Corellian Gunship (aka DP20) may look like the little brother of the CR90,
but it's the tough one of the family. No one can say it's not popular,
as this video shows, the triple appearance speaks volumes:
Ships in video:
1x Nebulon B Frigate
2x Action VI Transports
2x GR-75 Medium Transports
3x DP20 Corellian Gunship
2x Z-95 Headhunters
5x Y-wings
1x "Rouge Shadow"
There has to be some inspiration on this list, it's just a matter of going through each one for a fleet list,
just like Doole's Defense Fleet has it's own page we may get lucky. I'm going through it now.

Made this ship large because of the size of the Mel's miniature. Because of the size (3x longer than the Lambda), it should be an one-section huge ship instead.
Okay, I had to check and I see your point.
And I think you just found one of the two Scum epic ships.
Scum (Bounty Hunter) D5-Mantis Patrol Craft

Scum D5-Mantis Patrol Craft for the win!
Edited by gabe69velasquezI'm really hoping for 2 new Epic Scum ships before we get another new Imperial or Rebel huge ship...
BUT I still want the re-purpose gear for the GR-75 along with a new combat refit upgrade that adds a hardpoint, and I want this upgrade to be "GR-75 Only" but for S&V and Rebels.
(rough draft for Santa)

I got you covered right here with a shameless plug

Bring it FFG, before we get another duplicate topic on this.

EDIT: fixed typo
Edited by patoxAnd who wasn't hoping this was real?!?

So to avoid duplicate threads we're necroing duplicate threads?
I don't want to call that stupid, but it's impossible to describe it as anything but.

This is the most definitive thread on the subject, and certainly not a dead subject.
If the people you are describing as stupid thought of searching for threads
on the subject instead creating new ones on a whim we wouldn't have that problem.

Since the debate continues and the Hound's Tooth is considered a large scale ship, not a huge/epic ship, I think someone should use the ships from this thread to do a popularity poll.
Hyperspace Marauder is supposed to be 164.8 meters, the CR90 Corvette and Raider Corvette both 150 meters.
Don't know if these are canon or fanon but interesting list:
Encyclopedia-Black Sun corvettes - http://www.firefoxccmods.com/enciclopedia/corbetas_bs_en.html
This old idea (09 Feb 2015) has recently been suggested as a new idea.
But I can't imagine the Xiytiar-class transport used as a carrier the same way the Gonzanti is used as a carrier.
• Even found some pilot cards online.

Next thing you know Wizkids grabs the rights to a star citizen miniatures game.
Id be surprised if FFG did the Marauder at ~200m its longer and wider then the other epic ships it would probably need three bases to stand on to keep it from tipping over all the time. The other problem is the epic maneuver template if you make a ship that's longer or wider then the CR-90 you get some power sliding effect with its movements. Lastly theme-wise should scum really have the biggest ship in the x-wing paddle pool?
Its a cool ship and all and we'll probably see it in Armada but if 250m was too long 200 is probably too long as well.
Not my first choice, but between Melminiature's sliding scale and Marinealver's base design I wouldn't count it as not doable.
Not my cards, they can be found here:
http://www.afewmaneuvers.com/topic/2671-huge-ship-marauder-corvette/
Has anyone considered the possibility of a scum Consular-class cruiser,
armed just so "Clone Wars configuration: At least 4 turbolasers; 2 concussion missile launchers"
and with the right paint job...

That's quite the refit - I love that it has all those turrets!
Reminded me of this image. And at this point I'd settle for (anything) that one.

And who wasn't hoping this was real?!?
Woah, did someone try and pass THAT off as real?
Pretty sure I could do better in MS Paint, given a few beers and the inclination...

I love that whenever this subject comes up, you're all "*ahem* (slides GR-75 scum build plans across table ) "I'm just going to leave this right here...."

But when people are copy and pasting the EXACT same comment on multiple older threads, it makes no sense. Sure, keep the definitive thread active, but do we need multiple definitive threads in parallel? No.
