So the theory is to break up into 3 elements. Element 1 consisting of jonus, jendon, and the 2 gammas are designed to attack epic and large targets. Jendon passes target locks to jonus and the gammas, Jendon (and possibly jonus) takes first shot with missiles to deal with shields, gammas follow with torps to generate crits.

Element 2 is the miniswarm of ties designed to escort / screen the 1st element.

Element 3 is a VERY loose group consisting of Echo, Vader, and Fel. Their mission is to flank and cause havoc in the backfield, target CIC's like the hawk, deal with high priority targets like wedge, biggs, and e'tahn and generally make the opfors battleplan go sideways.

I feel like that's a lot of concussion missiles. Since the name of the list is the Tantive Hammer, I'm gonna assume you wanna eat that corvette like a cake. Concs aren't bad, but Cluster missiles seem like they'd have better damage output because they use more dice against the 'vette's 0 agility. Also, ion pulse missiles. Every ion token on a huge ship negates 1 energy from being gained. Good way to shut it down or force them to move differently. APTs could be great, since you've also got Jonus to fix blanks. Corvette is slow so wait a round, then blast it with F+Jonus reroll.

Well you need to remember the timing, jonus fires first so he's got to eat the shields. then a torp barrage from the gammas. then the tantive or transport will regen shields, so he's got to eat the shields AGAIN. That's why he's packing missiles instead of torps. APT's won't work since they're range one, you get close enough to use them and your gonna fly into the ship.

APTs can be pretty solid since they'll punch right past a reinforce action, though as you pointed out there is the danger of getting too close to the beast. Coming in from the front is dangerous, but from the side you have a bit more breathing room and the rear is pretty safe.

I'd be leery of taking shuttles if you expect to fight a corvette. Single turbolasers might be much maligned, but they are very effective against agility 1 targets.

Yeah, try the clusters or the Ion Pulse Missiles. =)

Don't get me wrong, firing missiles at something which can't evade them is great fun and very satisfying, but don't underestimate the value of numbers and regular firepower.

Three Interceptors, a Phantom and a Bomber stripped my Corvette's fore section of shields and reduced it to 1 hull in a single turn of shooting. No missiles required! If you've got the models for it. you may find extra ships more effective than loading up on consumables.

Don't forget that assault missiles vs Epics are quite fun. Lots of area to hit at range 1 of a section!

2 ion pulse missiles will shut down a Corvette, since it will generate a max of 1 energy. Pretty certain to hit too.

But I do agree that cannons/turrets are probably better vs epics than missiles. Plus once the epic is down you still have use of them.

Try the Ion missiles/cannons. For each token on the Tantive it has to reduce its energy by one next turn

If you can afford it, rexler + hcl can cripple a cr90 in a single turn. You just have to ensure he shoots last. Decoy works well for this

+1 Can't stress this enough...

This is one of those cases where I think point costs/inefficiencies can be stretched a little in EPIC. Low skill Interceptors in epic are nice little ships to have, 3/3 dice and you still can put out a lot of ships.

You don't mention if your will always be fighting Rebel/Tantive in the tourney. More "standard" squad building will benefit mirror matches or matches against Tantive-less lists, rather then loaded up on torps.

I have seen using multiple waves of 2-4 ships to be highly effective against a Tantive build. Get too many ships in a furball and you will loose efficiency. Where as with waves you do drive bys followed by another group. The enemy has to decide the follow the first group while getting hit from behind by the 2nd. If they engage the 2nd, the 1st starts attacking the Tantive etc.
