Official FFG Adversary Decks

What're the chances these'll be on amazon?

2 day free shipping sounds a lot better than FFG's options... :\

They'll never be "on Amazon" they'll just be offered through resellers. Just look at the spec decks, lots of them are not on Prime and the ones that are are marked up to $8.50+

Better than 3-4 days for just a couple of bucks?

From what I can tell based on their pricing when I originally ordered them and what they show now they adjusted a lot.

I "requested" in the listing USPS next day and it listed this was $3.70 (for all 3 decks). Apparently USPS next day really means 3 day delivery.

Now, if you purchase the same thing I did it would cost 15-20 dollars more for even slower speeds. I think for 1 deck now it is 7 dollars shipping for the slowest method, and 10-15 for the fastest (which is still slower than next day).

Yeah in the future Amazon + 2 day shipping is the way to go.

Holy cow, what have they done?

$9.40 for USPS is the cheapest option for just one deck to Virginia now. That's crazy.

Wait - that cant be right. I just bought 2 of each and it only ran 42-ish bucks.

I ordered mine form FFG on Sunday Night. It cost me a total of $24.55. $6.95 for each pack, and $3.70 for shipping to northern Virginia. I got them in the mail today. So not too shabby at all.

I think they will come in handy. and the art work, while small, is really good.

I'm an Edge of the Empire GM in waiting (will probably start the beginners adventure in feb or march after we finish D&D and get through holidays) but i picked these up now for kicks.

I like the cards themselves and the price is deinitely right. Maybe this isn't as much of an issue in EotE so you'll have to forgive the question but having a single stormtrooper card seems a bit limiting if the party is facing a whole squad of them. I wonder if it wouldn't make more sense to sell these decks for 9.99 or something but include 2 or even 3 of each card (or maybe 4-5 of the minions and only one nemesis or something). With only one card, ill need some kind of paper or whatever to track each individual trooper, right?

I think it's generally understood that you'd use some simple notation system to track the number of adversaries and their wound and/or strain thresholds.

I mean, you pull out the Stormtrooper card, look at where it says they've got 5 wounds, then you go "OK I have 3 groups of 3 Stormtroopers", so you take a piece of paper or a whiteboard or something and write "15" three times on it.

That's how I'd do it.

Were you thinking you might be writing the number of wounds they have left and so on upon the actual card itself?

Yeah maybe sleeve it and use a dry erase marker or something. Hadn't really thought about it, just feel like i want more than one stormtrooper card but not more than one moff nemesis card where it would make sense to double up on each deck.

I guess i could always scan and 9-up it or something for battles. Or just use paper like i do for all the kobolds and goblins my group is killing now.

(puts down sharpie)

... ummmm, no. Of course not.

i used sticky post it notes when using the WFRP3 versions

Just got mine. I'm a fan already. I just wish they came in proper deck boxes like a normal deck of cards, but I guess I can evict one of my Bicycle decks from its home. Alternatively, I have a nice little dice bag that's otherwise unused; I could rubber-band the different card groups together and put them in there.

Mine should be here later today. Hurry up, Mailman!

Just got mine yesterday (benefit of being near MN)

Tho I might have to get some card sleeves so I can write wounds/strain on the cards to keep track for the game.

But as a GM and needing disposable NPCs, i think it might help me out a lot. Really like the artwork, and it has all the stats as well as the empty space on the back filled up with fluff text

index cards...lots and lots of index cards. i generally scratch down dice pools and such on them as well for quick reference. 2G3Y, or something similar.

Looks like you upgraded from Mule Mail to Pony Express. :D

I agree that working out the dice pool isn't too hard, but I have a hard time remembering which skill goes with with characteristic, so I always need to ask my players or keep a blank character sheet handy. Pre-written pools would have made it simpler. In case of the minions, you can just calculate that in your mind if needed.

My GM does this too, but it would work just as well if they did the same thing on the cards as they do on the character sheets — indicate next to each skill which attribute it is based on.

I wish they had done this as well. The Beginner Set character sheets do this, and it's very helpful. I also can never remember which skill goes with which attribute.

I believe there's a page in the CRB that has all the skills and which attribute they tie with. You could just photocopy this and keep it with you. It's what I did when I ran the beginner game. I had a bookmark on said page and went back to it when I needed to.

Soon as I got my 3 decks I laminated them.

Halfway through the first set I was a bit too anxious to get done and I accidentally laminated 2 overlapping. Took me 3 minutes to "save" both cards and then re-laminate. Note to self: done get anxious when using hot stuff.

No reason, except that you started it. :P

goof

So, now that the three decks are out..this is when we start speculating and clamoring for more, right? What else would we like to see?

I definitely would like a deck geared more toward Force Users. I think the decks we got only have one force-using adversary, the Emperor's Hand. I could see another 20 card deck of Dark Jedi, Sith, and maybe things like vornskr and yslamirir-equipped troopers.

Ships and vehicles seem like the next obvious choice.

Didn't even think of that, but yeah, that makes sense.

So what could another set of three be?

Force Users

Starfighters

Bigger ships

Or maybe combine both the ship sets and then do one for ground vehicles.
