The talent cards were useless. These I will buy as soon as they're available, and will continue to buy as long as they keep putting them out.
Official FFG Adversary Decks
I wouldn't say the talent cards are useless. they are just not as good as using oggdudes sheet with the talents on them.
Perhaps saying useless is overstating, but they're certainly not worth paying money for. I find a one page copy of the tree far more handy so I can keep track of what I've taken, and where I'm going.
exactly.
And I will still keep buying them cause SWRPG is my Pokémon fix. ![]()
What would have been even MORE useful (though I can see they were already pressed for real estate on these) would have been a string of the dice symbols next to each skill (green+yellow) like Chris Witt puts in his modules...I find those so easy to rapidly get skill checks off without having to hone in on the skill reference on the card, check the associated attribute, do the math, calculate the dice pool, etc. Meh, first world problems...
I don't think I agree with this. It would work for Rivals and Adversaries, but not Minions, since the dice pool depends on the number of minions in the group. Given that, I'd rather have a consistent format even if it means I need to figure out the dice in my head.
And really, the dice pool calculation is absolutely trivial in this system. The reference is nifty, but come on... ![]()
I agree that working out the dice pool isn't too hard, but I have a hard time remembering which skill goes with with characteristic, so I always need to ask my players or keep a blank character sheet handy. Pre-written pools would have made it simpler. In case of the minions, you can just calculate that in your mind if needed.
or just have 2 letters next to each skill designating the ability that goes with it.

My GM does this too, but it would work just as well if they did the same thing on the cards as they do on the character sheets — indicate next to each skill which attribute it is based on.

Whether that's accurate or not, that should give folks an idea that these cards should be out real soon (likely this month).
Wow, I kinda managed to unwittingly do these cards myself.
See, in order to learn a new ruleset I often precis it, which is just a fancy schmancy way of copying out the rules bits without the fluff text. It's a tedious way to learn, but it works.
Every now and then I'd take a break from rule copying and put the stats of some adversary or Race or Starship or Vehicle on a 3x5 index card. No fluff text, no pictures, just the numbers.
Got a big stack of them now. Very useful...too bad, I shoulda saved some time and gotten these instead, but I wasn't to know they were making them, was I?
Could you post a picture of one? I would like to compare it to what I use. See how you have it set up.
I can't wait to get my hands on these. I hope the StarWars.com article is right and these get released ASAP.

Man...I really want to like the Talent decks...and since I finally have a IRL table group, I may start picking up the appropriate ones for my players...but they really need to offer some sort of bundle pricing or something. I seriously would not be against dropping a solid $50 or something on a whole mess of those cards, but it really starts to hurt when I consider buying however many $3.99 packs.
And yeah, hopefully the Adversary decks are actually available for purchase very very soon...I really would like some for the table!

My issue is I get better results by using Oggdudes generator and making sure I enter the talents into the data editor for the character I am playing.
Same here, Daeglan. I'll pick these up and I imagine they could come in handy for improv'ed games, which is something I'd like to do more of.
But when I'm planning a session I just use OggDude's program and save some Stat Blocks of exactly what I need! I love it.
Would anyone with these be willing to list out the Adversaries and what number they are in each deck? Also the product codes for each deck? This way I can make the links in my RPG Index.
I am looking forward to these. Vehicles and ships next hopefully.
It's weird to see them mentioned on starwars.com when FFG doesn't have a product listing for it, it isn't on their 'upcoming products' page, and I don't see it listed with any online retailers for preorder either. Too bad, I might be placing an order with CSI today and I wanted to throw these and one of those nice (and huge) star wars dice bags into it.
Still no word on these huh... Hanging out for them!
I've "given up" for the time being and pulled the trigger on ordering the F&D beta without them.
Still looking for someone willing to list out the Adversary names and card numbers to add to the index.

And thus, just like waiting for the bus forever before lighting up a smoke, only to have it arrive seconds later - you order the Beta and the cards are released! Clearly you were the holdup in the process. . . .
So are these out yet or was Desslok being funny? ![]()

I ordered mine yesterday. You have to really hunt for them but they and a few age or rebellion talent decks are in the store.
I was asking because I have to order most of my FFG SWRPG stuff online as we don't have many places round here if any to get this stuff from sadly.
I know this is a huge ask but would it be possible for someone to get me all 3 decks and ship them to me? I would pay ofcourse. Things are just really hard to get here in NZ XD
