Saga Expansion question

By radioboyeric, in Strategy and deck-building

Wondering if it was possible (with decent enough successful to actually enjoy the game) to play the Saga expansions with the CORE sets (2-3 sets) and whatever comes with the expansions now and going forward? I would like to get back into the game but was really intimidated by the sheer volume of money and time that deck creation would be involved into having a decent deck. Has anyone done this with just the CORE sets? I know anything is possible and it's all about the game and having fun, but honestly with the limited amount of time and money that I could drop into the game would be perfect if I could just buy some CORES and the expansion.

My apologies if this is a redundant post. I'm not on very often...

Thoughts, and thank you in advanced!

Problem of time: you can 'copy' built decks. Here there is a specific section of built decks.

Money: erm...., a possible way is to play lotr by octgn (digital online alternative side?) while you are saving money for buying packs in the meantime. You can test which scenarios and player cards would you like to buy first.

You can make it work with just core sets if you don't mind playing on easy mode. It'll probably still be pretty tough, but you should be able to beat all the scenarios.

If you have limited money to spend on the game my advice is to chose any expansion, or expansions, (adventure pack , deluxe and saga) instead of a 2nd or 3rd core set. I play the game for 3 years now and i own everything ( including all game night kits, print on demand etc) i got my 2nd core set about a year ago and i really get a very little use of it (with my currently 2 decks i'm not even using the extra cards from the 2nd core set)
