Gencon 2014 Top 4 matches and Finals match pics

By Texx, in X-Wing Battle Reports

So I *think* I was able to get photobucket working, and the various pics from the last rounds of Gencon 2014 are uploaded. Unfortunately I missed the top 8 games since I had a food priority. See link below:

For the semi finals, I was just trying to grab shots whenever the ships where moving to new spots, and I don't think the resolution is good enough to pick out damage on the side cards.

For the finals, I think I got the end of each movement phase and shooting phase (may have missed one or two pics). If you zoom in on the side I think you can see the damage cards and shield tokens on the ships with chewy taking damage first and the phantom losing two shields.

Again, kinda raw data, but gives you an idea of how the games went. Also, Team Covenant recorded the final so they should be uploading that to youtube in the future with their awesome editing skills.

Thanks Dallas!

You may want to try Flickr for image hosting. Super easy to deal with. Totally free for normal uses, and has a nice "share" button which generates the BBCode necessary to embed images into here and BGG.

Thanks for the pictures. Much appreciated.

Thanks!

What were the lists btw?

Ya I may try Flickr next, just wasn't working when I was only on my phone. The lists are as follows (somewhat from memory):

For the Imperials:

Nick- 6 Obsidians and Howl with PTL

Rick- Yorr; Soontir with PTL; Whisper with VI, ACD, gunner, FCS

For the Rebels:

Paul- Han with VI, Luke, C3PO, engine, falcon title; Biggs, Tala

Jeff- Chewy with DTF, R2D2 crew, C3PO, falcon title; Lando with DTF, Han crew, Nien Numb

Jeff- Chewy with DTF, R2D2 crew, C3PO, falcon title; Lando with DTF, Han crew, Nien Numb

Whats the logic behind the DTF on Lando?

Whats the logic behind the DTF on Lando?

I would assume its because they can both protect each other, effectively meaning your opponent need to land somewhere between 15-20 damage before you loose 1 ship, keeping them both on the board longer and firing more.
