Why is no one talking about the online toolset we're getting?

I'm super-excited for "official" tools.

The problem is that all we know is "online toolset". We don't even have enough information to speculate.

I was thinking same thing as an ios user it is going to be nice but will have to redo lists i already have on yet another squad builder

I'm super-excited for "official" tools.

Because 1) We don't know anything about it, and 2) We already have squad builders.

Yeah, I think Star Wars commander is going to have trouble competing with Voidstate and Yet Another... Especially since I'd have to input all my lists again.

So SWCmd would need to offer some pretty cool features before I'd bother switching.

Looks like:

• A squadron builder
• Collection tracker
• Scenario and mission designer (for Standard and Epic)

Will be interesting to see how they fare against the other online squadron builders.

Plus there's no telling whether it will exist for mobile devices or if it will be a web-only tool, or how good the interface will be.

With X-Wing Command, the new XCOM boardgame with an app, and the Battlelore online stuff it sounds like FFG are getting into mobile in a big way, so I'd be surprised if X-Wing Command wasn't on mobile platforms.

But my love for voidstate's builder is huge, so we'll see!

This could make it worth it.

Voidstate already tracks your collection and most of the squad builders out there have methods of sharing builds.

But a scenario and mission designer could be enough to make me switch, if they're worth using.

My guess is it will not include pre-release ship and that will keep the other squad builders popular.

I expect it to have a great interface that utilizes a lot of the card art and this may set a new standard on how the squads are displayed for formal events.

I also expect that FFG will use it for marketing, so say you input your collection and then use cards you don't have in your build that it will conveniently show which expansions will complete the squad.

I feel I should state, in case he/she reads this thread, Voidstate I LOVE your builder. It's the only thing that makes me consider getting a facebook account

Please let them make one for IOS....It would be so much easier than trying to manipulate the UK website on the phone

There are builders out there, of course - Some of them are amazing. None of them work well on iOS, which is what I use, and I'm sure a bunch of others do as well.

I have no desire to get into a religious debate (iOS vs Android), but I'd LOVE to have something like the Android-only builder available to us.

Myself I don't use pre-release cards and ships that much. I like to wait until I have them in my hands, so that part won't matter to me at least.

A native iOS builder? That'd be cool. Voidstate was great but doesn't play nicely on the iPad, YAXMB works fine but requires wifi.

Now I'm just wondering how much it'll cost, unless of course they gift us with free.

Voidstate's one is wonderful but I use Yet Another because it's got google login.

I recently released my data files for ArmyBuilder. While this is a pc program it does have an ios roster viewer. I have no personal experience with it but if you would like to try it out, any feedback is welcome.

Personally I don't think I will use the announced apps.

Personally, I'd actually prefer a builder free of pre-release items. I don't use them at all, so they just clutter it for me. I understand a lot of folks love them, but it'd be nice to have an option without them.

My wishlist:

• Mobile native (iOS, Android, WindowsPhone) or Mobile browser optimized web app.
• Full graphic representations of the cards.
• Full photographic representations of the models.
• "My Collection" inventory database.
• Searchable card database (X-Wing Wiki'esque, I suppose).
• Scenario and campaign generator/designer (already promised).
• Build and save squads for normal and epic play.

It was supposed to come out this week but Voidstate scuttled the server its on for some reason... Oh well, say, doesn't he have an awesome list builder? What a coincidence.

He said "a couple of weeks".

I do remember him also saying you had to be signed into to Fantasy Flight site to enjoy it. I was under the impression it would be a free service.
