So Howlrunner is a total babe?! [PICTURE]

Sod gender inequality, how many black people are in Star Wars.. i think TWO in the OT (lando and a bespin guard)

Mace Windu in the prequels?

While you might not see a lot of female characters in staring roles, in the backdrops on the movies (i've literally just finished watching ANH) there are loads of women (and possibly women aliens) in the background but very few... read *no* black people or asian people.

Thats a wierder outlook.

Compared to say 'firefly' where there is a good spread of racial and gender types in both main characters and background figures.

There was Grizz Frix a black X wing pilot

Well that evens it up a bit, there are now FOUR black guys in a galaxy far far away :)

Mara. All Day. I'm a sucker for a Red Head.

The pilots are neat and all, but...

here's hot..

Hmmph i show you a pic of a girl who actually looks like howlrunner and you guys get wood over a spaceship.. awesome! :)

Got a question: In your play group, how many players are women?

Is there anything that you think would help introduce this game to women/girls assuming that you and your current play group are trying their best to not be sexist jerks?

That escalated quickly

Yeah, I think your question about gender inclusiveness is really important, and I think it'd be good if there were some better debate on the question.

Despite its start in the 1970s, which demonstrated the society of the time, the SWU has become more inclusive. I'm currently reading Stackpole's X-Wing novels (1990s), and it does seem that it was more inclusive than the backslide of RotJ. Also, I'm taking in the Clone Wars. It'll be interesting how future depictions become more gender inclusive (I hope and presume).

But I don't think the problems is in the SWU and its range of female characters beyond the token. The problem is with womens' sense of acceptance as players of our game. If I look around at our X-Wing community in progressive Portland, it's a sausage fest. Now, it may be that there's something structural in the female brain that doesn't make them like this sort of thing, but I would suggest that this hypothesis should not be our assumption - at all. Given the track record of these things, it should be our presumption that women don't join, because it's not seen as an inclusive hobby.

To bring it full circle to the OP, I'm not sure that the Howlrunner Armada card was intended is some sort of porn. It seems pretty muted to me, and not sexualized at all. That's a good thing! At the same time, if you find that depiction attractive, that's a good thing too! Statements of "... a total babe!" Hm, maybe not so good.

Well i've already been told off once this thread :P

So rebels want to force all women into uncomfortable metal underwear, you heard it here folks

Carrie Fischer apparently was a driving force behind the slave Leia look, because she was tired of the costumes she had worn being so plain.

Link to your evidence?

My friend Nat looks dead like Howlrunner.

Is she single? I'll be in the Trippe on October 4th wearing a red x-wing shirt. Let her know.

:)

Edit: so she knows to stay away obviously.

Wait, your icon is a chick. Are you not one?

Mara. All Day. I'm a sucker for a Red Head.

Don't come crying to me when Luke comes and chops your c**k off with his lightsaber :P

A Jedi would never do that. Hey... Does the Star Wars Universe have prostetics for that?

Tie Fombender?

Wookieepedia says it's an Unidentified TIE varient. Says it carries two boarding pods. How would we incorporate those into the game? Epic only?

Probably, but SW cybernetics are REALLY unsophisticated.

So it's probably just a hydraulic hammerc*ck.

I still want a scenario where one side has to disbable a large or huge ship with a certain amount of ion tokens and then make a boarding action with stormtroopers or commandoes aboard a shuttle.

I'll probably end up house ruling it and making one up to be honest.

She has said this many times in interviews... good nuff.

Pretty girls! Sex, TIEs & Rock'N'Roll!

Ruthless girl!

+1 love me some MJ!

Also after seeing Fleet Officer, my opinion is she is most likely a young Daala.

I could see that.

Though I normally would go for the red-heads but **** I love the look of the chick on the Ruthlessness card.

Something about a girl in uniform :-)
