Need a new level.

By Spaceman91, in X-Wing

Hi everybody......

My friend and I like to match wits regularly and recently I have been pushed to the limit. I have a good win/lose ratio ( about 6/2 or 3 ) but its getting harder.

He likes his bombers, fully loaded, and he does like the baron. I have mixed it up plenty of times so its not the same list each time ( we would both get very bored ) but I'm now starting to find it hard to keep ahead.

What can I do to combat bombers defenders and interceptors all loaded to the gills?

I have both imp and rebel fleets available to me. I have at least one of everything except the corvette. In the case of B-wings I have 2, 5x X-wings, 2x Y-wings, 2x defenders and 5x ties. I do have imperial aces and a interceptor as well.

Do can you throw some idea's at me as I'm struggling to stay ahead.

Do you have an A-wing? If so, this list is great:

Garven Dreis

R2 astro

Dutch Vander

ICT

R5 astro

GSP

PtL

BSP

You could also scrap the Astros for a FCS on the BSP.

Bombers like target locks. Find things to make them lose those and the missiles are useless. Wes is pretty good at that. Turrets or high PS do well against the Baron.

Yea that also works, High-PS lists (especially Wes + VI)

Kagi with a sensor jammer would really ruin his day.

Kagi and Wes are both things I hadn't thought of....

Thank you.

Last time we played he wanted to go 150pts so with that in mind (and what's been said) I gunna try this

Wes + Pred

Biggs + r4 d6

2x

Blues

2x

Gold + Ion Turret + R2 astro

Of he wants to stick with 100pts

Wes + pred

Biggs

Rookie

Blue

Any good?

Players always seem to thing a new list is the key to moving their game up a notch. It's really not.

The key is: MORE ROUNDS PLAYED. I have played 200+ games. The list is very important, but games played teach you what is important, and how to play each list to the fullest. Stick with a list for a few rounds and really get to know it. Then move on. That kind of thing.

I can use this too though, I know how he builds and so I can do it back. The problem I'm bumping into is I think in my box, you guys think in yours. Only gifted people can truly think out of their boxes and unfortunately I am not able to think outside my box. That is why I need you lovely people. You can help me by showing me things that don't really register in my head but do in yours.
