Yea I would be concerned about whisper and Soontir with that setup. That's why I usually run Han, but I think VI can also make it work. Have considered a 3 SJ list with 2B's lol.
Corran Horn builds
3-0 at local tourney with:
Corran VI AS R2D2
2 Blue's
Tala
Pretty solid list. Surprisingly flexible and handles all top-notch teams.
I have a tournament this Saturday and I had my list all ready, I thought.
I was going to run Han with VI, EU and Gunner with Corran ptl FCS R2D2. I have been running with Luke instead of gunner but I wanted EU do the mobility. Turns out gunner EU Han is incredibly low damage and I kind of hate it.
Thinking of switching to:
2 Dagger's w/AS
Corran w/ptl FCS, flechettes and R2D2.
Has anyone tried Corran with 2 B's?
I run:
Corran + R2D2 + Predator + Sensor Jammer
Blue Squadron Pilot + FCS + Tactician + B2 (sometimes Ion Cannon)
Blue Squadron Pilot + FCS + Tactician + B2
Or sometimes I swap to VI + FCS + Shield on Corran.
The control style B Wing is pretty fun with Corran. The difference between Corran + Han and Corran + 2 B Wings is you'll likely lose the B Wings first, which is okay, since Corran is a solid finisher. However, you go 100-0 less often than when playing Han with Corran. It's a tradeoff, since obviously 2 guns provides more damage than 1, especially with FCS.
The other big thing is no auto Phantom counter is in your squad, so VI on Corran might become necessary.
I have been flying some dual tactician B Corran lists and am definitely taking one to a tourney this weekend. Can't decide between double FCS Daggers with r2d2 or dropping to blue's and adding in a bandit.
Corran VI FCS
2 Blue's w/tactician
Bandit
or
Corran VI FCS R2D2
2 daggers FCS/tactician
Might try the predator/SJ combo as well. Just have to be forced to decide when I run out of time most likely.
I'm a massive perfectionist, which makes using corran incredibly difficult because I'm never satisified with his 2nd attack unless it's perfect , but then get really doubtful about the rest of the list.
Best I could come up with is
Corran
*Marksmanship
*FCS
[40]
Airen Cracken
*Swarm
[21]
Biggs Darklighter
*R7 Astromech
[27]
El Bandito
[12]
Still haven't put it on the table because it seems like it'd just play like a wall
Looking forward to fielding this build once S&V are released.

That's a possible 6 attacks on a single target within ranges 1-2 of the formation
I might go with expose over VI. Getting 4-5 dice for 2 attacks a turn is a great way to maximize the burst damage output that Horn has.
I just wouldn't fly Corran without EU personally. He really needs the extra movement after regenerating shields imo. Is Biggs supposed to run alongside Corran? Seems weird to me as Corran is a flanker.
It might be better to pair Corran with a Mix of awings and z95s. Corran with EU can battle the phantom. Small swarm of ships is preferable imo to essentially a second ace with Wedge and anot awkward Biggs.
We will see a lot of Dash soon, Corran works well as a counterpart to Dash. Playtested that last night, the pair is really fun but unfortunately you don't get EU with a full load out Dash.
As for playing against Dash...
Awings will be good against Dash maybe, too, as they can move quickly and try to stay in range 1 to dodge HLC shots.Corran moving last against Dash could definitely use the EU to boost into range 1.
Anyway, that was a lot of random nonsense. I'd think about how many Dash Rendars you're about to see for sure if you're still interested in playing him. It's been a while since the first post.
I ran this build today, it's not ideal, but being new to the game, it made use of the three rebel ships that I own:
Corran Horn
Advanced Sensors
R7 Astromech
Biggs Darklighter
R2-D2
Kyle Katarn
Moldy Crow title
Blaster turret
Recon Specialist
100pts.
It was a tough game, but I managed to beat 2 TIE defenders and 2 TIE fighters.
Tonight I had a blast with:
I've been playing around with buzzsaw Bs and put this list together as I like the double-tap theme. Also double stressing phantoms and falcons makes them dead.
Horn, VI, FCS, R3-A2
2x Blue, FCS, -E2, Gunner
100pts.
If I ever get a chance to play I'll give it a go...
All these lists remind me that I really need to buy transport. Corran lists kind of have 3 ways to deal with whisper/Soontir and at least one of them costs $55. : /
Would you put R2D2 on Corran or Luke?
Corran
- FCS
- PTL
- EU
- (R2D2)
Luke
- (R2D2)
2x Bandits
Corran. He is an improved Luke.
Corran. He is an improved Luke.
Makes sense. It's just weird to not have anything on Luke
My next battle will be my first E-Wing squadron. I've had a lot of success with a tie swarm and very little else to be honest. Local meta doesn't involve E-wings. I'm therefore attempting to get something working.
Here's my first attempt. Going for max flying options with Corran plus a mini swarm. I'm not feeling confident about it.

Will report back how it goes.
Settled on this for upcoming tournament.
I hate to run 3-ship Rebel but I think it can still pull it out. And Falcons or phantoms? EZPZ
Edit: don't run this list.
Edited by TasteTheRainbowWhile waiting for Rebel Aces I tried a list with Corran to have something to do until I got my new A-wings.
Corran Horn
- FCS
- Outmaneuver
- EU
- R2D2
Green Sqdr. Pilot
- PtL
- Concussion Missile

First game was against Carnor, Howlie, Turr and Tetran. Corran flew and shot like a god. Flanking interceptors, killing them with double taps. One greenie got killed before he could fire his concussion, the other greenie took a spin with Turr and Tetran, confusing them and eventually firing his missile. Corran, I think, lost 1 shield the entire game.
Second game was against Jonus Brothers. Predator on Jonus. I assumed he'd want to joust, so I gave him the opportunity to do so. During asteroid setup I left a lane in the center of the board, he set up his defenders to run straight through it, I put one green dead center as well, one green to the right and Corran to the left. So in that situation his best option was to go straight forward, as he did not want Corran behind him nor leave two packed A-wings unattended. First round of shooting Corran came from the side, shot at one Defender, and the A-wings fired their missiles at it, which resulted in a dead Defender. In the second round of shooting Corran took a tasty spot at Range 1 from the side of Jonus and behind the second Defender. I would rather have shot the Defender, but it was out of arc. Jonus went down from a double tap from Corran. I lost an A-wing. Then I was left with one Defender to deal with. Corran lost all his shields in one shot, but simply took a long turn around the board, while the A-wing kept annoying the Defender, and was back in mint condition again. It took a while, but eventually Corran managed to finish the game.
It was fun to run such a powerful build.

Bandit Squadron Pilot — Z-95 Headhunter 12
I was running my double tactician/Corran against a 4-ship rebel with Cracken and really liked some parts of both. Seems like it's not bad?

Had a 3 player game. A wins if B is eliminated. B wins if C is eliminated. C wins if A is eliminated. I had to kill Whisper, Echo and Tur. 3 Tie Defenders were trying to kill me. The Z-95s soaked up the damage with the odd hit here and there. Corran, Echo and a Defender was left a the end. It wasn't close. Corran was awesome. A focus, boost then k-turn got in at range 1 on Echo and finished him off. I'll be trying this again in a standard 2 player game
I am trying out a new Corran build for an upcoming tournament
Corran Horn 35
R2D2 4
FCS. 2
Push the limit 3
Wedge Antilles. 29
Bandit squadron 12
Prototype Pilot 17

Any thoughts on the build? Usually I will flank with Corran. The others fly in formation.
Looks alright. Might drop to 2 bandits and predator wedge.
Horn with FCS, R2-D2, PTL and Shield Upgrade, Biggs with Hull Upgrade, and 2xBandits made top 16 this year at Worlds.
Edited by DerocheSo far one of my all time favorites is
CORRAN'S RAIDERS
Corran with R2-D2,FCS,VI,Flechette torpedo, shield upgrade.
Plus 3 Talas
2 with Homing missiles & one with ion pulse.
It's super fun & I love flying it. I've shredded Han with it, & even whisper has gotten torn apart.
One on one, Corran just out tanks Han & the regen is just devastating. Plus against whisper, hit her with the torpedo, now she's stressed, plus your second shot is target locked & against only 2 defense dice. Plus the Talas could even shoot her if they had arc.
The missiles give me that extra punch from the talas & they are powerful against nimble fighters but even deadlier against low agility ships like Bwings, bombers, firesprays, falcons, etc.
So far I've never really had trouble keeping Corran alive, but the Z's drop pretty easy against concentrated fire.
Normally I use them as bait & Corran flanks. Or a few times I've charged with Corran & had the Z's race in from the side. I cannot stress enough how powerful those little guys are. Especially if you underestimate & ignore them.
Corran Horn had a great showing two days ago at the New Zealand Nationals here. The Meta was heavy, heavy Falcon and a number of these lists included Corran as the support ship. There were also two of us running Corran without a Falcon and both of us made it into the Top 4 (seeded 1 and 2 after Swiss), and I believe one of the Han/Corran builds was 5th or 6th.
I was running Corran (with R2-D2, VI and FCS) plus 2 Blue Squadron Pilots with Heavy Laser Cannons. I came 2nd after swiss and was 3rd after I lost to the eventual winner in the Top 4 (who was running a dual falcon list).
The other list had the same Corran Build (with R2-D2, VI and FCS) plus 3 Bandits and a Blue Squadron Pilot. He was 1st after swiss and ended up losing in the Top 4 to the overall runner up (who was running Echo, Fel and a Zoom Shuttle - so quite a tough match up as I got tabled by the same player the night before in a warm up match).
Overall I have to say that Corran was a great play in the Falcon heavy Meta and I know he put abit of fear into my opponents. The only issue I found was that I struggled to destroy two Falcons in 60 minute game rounds (after 15 minutes of set up). My first double falcon match up ended with just 1min 30 sec left, while the Top 4 match ended with a full health Corran vs a 1 hull Chewie.
So Corran is definitely playable in this Meta, you just need to be conscious of time and ensure you don't leave Corran's run too late (as he can take out a Fat Falcon one-on-one, but it takes time).
I haven't had great success with 2 HLC and Corran. Good to know that it can go somewhere. Did you run up against any swarm or whisper swarm?
