So it's been about a month. How has everyone's Corran lists been doing?

I've been running Han/Corran with great success, but having trouble with any other Corran lists due to 1 pilot: Soontir. He's the only pilot I have trouble with. I would literally rather try to solo a Falcon with Corran than deal with a well-flown Soontir Fel.

I have a tournament this Saturday and I had my list all ready, I thought.

I was going to run Han with VI, EU and Gunner with Corran ptl FCS R2D2. I have been running with Luke instead of gunner but I wanted EU do the mobility. Turns out gunner EU Han is incredibly low damage and I kind of hate it.

Thinking of switching to:

2 Dagger's w/AS

Corran w/ptl FCS, flechettes and R2D2.

Has anyone tried Corran with 2 B's?

Try Corran with 4 or 5 Z's. Hilarity will ensue.

I put this list together as I wanted to try something different out than playing Fat Han or a Phantom list that seem to be performing really well in tournaments recently.

I've put together a few 2 ship builds with Corran but this is the one I've been happiest with. The B-Wings can survive due to the amount of shields they have. Having 2 Heavy Laser Cannons helps dealing out damage so should hopefully be able to do well against Fat Han, also having Corran take his first shot at PS 10 should help against phantoms.

I went 3-2 in the last tournament I played this list, would have hoped to have gone 4-1 but I made a massive mistake with a full health Corran which ended up with him off of the board. Also, I couldn't kill Soontir even after landing 4 shots on him, they were all evaded, yet when Soontir attacked a B-Wing with no tokens, 4 hits and I didn't roll an evade or focus and the B-Wing only had a shield left, dice can be fun sometimes.

Soontir is my one actual problem as well. I would rather try to solo Fat Han than 1v1 Soontir with Corran.

Yesterday I was considering double HLC B's, but I thought it gimped Corran build too badly. Do you usually bring him in flank or something in that build?

Played 3 games yesterday with that squad.

First one was against Echo+miniswarm (enemy had initiative)

Second one was against Etahn+Ibtisam+Tala (I had initiative)

Third was against Rexler+Soontir+Phennir (I had initiative)

I outmaneuvered Echo with my Corran.

I was in his firing arc and in range to use droid, so I took TL, boosted and ptl barrel rolled out of its firing arc and got to double shoot from range 1 with TL.

Corran Horn is also fairly durable due to him having TL+Boost+Barrel Roll to go out of firing arcs.

If you can't do that you still have 3 green die with Focus+Evade.

Once Outrider comes I'd probably swap Talas to Bandits and give Luke Lone Wolf EPT.

I've never had a problem with minimal upgrades on Corran, he can shoot before most and the Fire Control System means he is very accurate. I don't like spending too many points on one ship, especially on a ship with 3 shields and 2 hull, it can disappear very quickly, especially against ships that have a similar or better dial.

I tend to run Corran down the flank and keep the B's in the centre, I fly very slow at the start of the game then I can try to work out where my opponent is going, I also try to get them to fly through the main body of asteroids. With everything able to barrel roll I can put the ships in lots of places. My opponents tend to go for the B-Wings for some reason, I think it's the threat of 2 HLCs then Corran can get on to a flank and around the back.

What I've found with the list is that it's not too harsh if you lose one ship, both B-Wings can absorb a lot of fire and deal a lot of damage which should even things up if outnumbered. Having the HLCs means that you are more deadly in the first rounds of shooting at range three Corran's second shot comes in handy just finishing things off so I don't have to face another round of shooting from a ship.

With a 3 ship build I feel you have to try to be as aggressive as possible and have ships that don't rely on the rest of your force as you can start to crumble very quickly if an opponent takes out a key ship.

I love PTL but I much prefer Vet Instincts in the current meta, I can try to take out a ship before they get chance to shoot at my B-Wings, it's really useful against Whisper as I can get a decent amount of damage before the second cloak then the B-Wings should be able to deal the remaining damage needed. Also by having PTL I think you can limit yourself on future turns and make yourself more predictable. Also with Vet Instincts you should be able to put Corran on the table last which makes things a lot easier to get him on a flank.

Obviously these are my own thoughts and opinions but I would say give the list a try. Just be patient early game to gain an advantage at long range shooting, you shouldn't get stuck on asteroids as everyone can barrel roll.

I haven't tried this squad yet, but I just re-discovered the joy of Garven last night, and I think he could be pretty good support for Corran.

Garven and Airen help Corran's double tap hit as hard as possible - between the two of them and FCS, it's possible to spend TL+Focus on both attacks. On off turns when you just want him to tank, you can give him 2 focuses and an evade, with the bonus that a leftover focus can be used for regenerating shields.

The problem with this squad is that you have to be super-careful with Corran, and he lacks the EU to help. I feared Predator eating up my Bs and dropped it to get Daggers. I think this is a mistake. Corran is the focus of the list. Your opponent is going to gun for him and you need maneuverability. If you lose Corran and a Falcon or Phantom is on the table still...well, good luck catching them. You can't afford to lose Corran and he isn't quite maneuverable enough.

So I changed it to:

I like this much better. The Predator fears were overblown. Most people focus on Corran, and if they don't, well, I'm happy to let them tear up some Bs while Corran runs free. If they go after Corran, make them chase while the BBZ get shots in. As long as Corran is on the board you have a chance. You still have to play it safe and wait out your opportunities. It has a good deal of firepower. Corran can handle Phantoms and if you let your Bs chew on it a bit first, he can zoom in and really put the 2-tap hurt on a Falcon as well.

I want to test something like this one:

Ptl + adv proton + r2-f2 + fcs + stealth device.

You can get up to 5Agi + evade when you expect heavy fire, and if you are at range 1, with ptl you get focus + tl , fire your main weapon, get a new tl with fcs and fire the adv. Torpedoes which gives you 5 sure hits. After spending the torpedo you can always use ptl getting +1agi and evade.

My current list is:

When Cracken shoots his missiles, his special ability procs twice. The only problem I've had with this list so far are Fat Falcons.

Went 4-0 at a local tournament.

Problem with 2 ship builds is that they're good in timed rounds but not so great in elimination rounds.

Corran really needs R2D2 to shine, especially once you get him to the late game. FCS+R2D2 (or R5P9 if you can't afford the one point.)

..It has done very well. Even played a small tournament with it. The opposing player has a tough choice of who to go after first, as the B-Wings approach from the front and Corran from the side.

Double AS daggers is pretty good. I run it with ptl FCS r2d2 and flechette on Corran. Had some pretty good success, but I'm not sure if PS8 flechette's are enough to handle a competent whisper or a Soontir.

Looking into running a 4-ship Corran list this Sunday:

2 Blue

Corran VI AS

That leaves 4 points for either r2d2 or an engine. The engine makes him incredibly unpredictable with AS. How would everyone finish this list out?

I run:

Corran + R2D2 + Predator + Sensor Jammer

Blue Squadron Pilot + FCS + Tactician + B2 (sometimes Ion Cannon)

Blue Squadron Pilot + FCS + Tactician + B2

Or sometimes I swap to VI + FCS + Shield on Corran.

The control style B Wing is pretty fun with Corran. The difference between Corran + Han and Corran + 2 B Wings is you'll likely lose the B Wings first, which is okay, since Corran is a solid finisher. However, you go 100-0 less often than when playing Han with Corran. It's a tradeoff, since obviously 2 guns provides more damage than 1, especially with FCS.

The other big thing is no auto Phantom counter is in your squad, so VI on Corran might become necessary.

I will also add, if you haven't tried Corran with:

Sensor Jammer + Predator + R2D2, you don't know what you're missing.

This build lets you set up for joust type battles, since K Turning Corran with SJ will automatically take less damage than another K Turning ship (unless they find a way to get a focus). At the least, SJ makes your opponent regret spending that focus on defense, or taking an evade action (im looking at you Han Solo).

Also, SJ, while not as potent as FCS on the double tap, still provides some benefit. Your opponent WILL have to spend a focus to do damage, so your second shot will at least be less heavily defended.

Not to mention, Predator at least gives you 1 reroll. Overall, ive actually had more success with that combo on Corran than any other.
