Corran Horn builds

By DreadStar, in X-Wing

Well, since i posted on the national's thread i see a lot of people are really interested in sharing and trying out different Corran builds. So i would like to create this thread where people share builds with your favorite E-wing pilot (screw it an about!)

I think mine is still unrefined, but it has served me very well. Mind you i only play locally, so it could be my meta, or whatever, feel free to criticize if you see anything you would improve. I didn't post it in the national's thread, not because it is some sort of secret, i don't even think it is amazing, i just didn't want to derail the thread, but if more people want to play the allmighty Corran, and check out the list, i am up for it.

Cheers!

Corran Horn (35)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Fire-Control System (2)
R2-D2 (4)
Biggs Darklighter (25)
R4-D6 (1)
Wedge Antilles (29)
Predator (3)
Total: 100
I found that Corran with FCS and R2D2 is actually a beast one on one against falcons. Veteran instincts also helps so Han's withouth VI doesn't use engine upgrade out to get out your arcs. You use evade action, and expect to get 1 hit, you don't want to be on Range 1 for obvious reasons.
Since it is VI and has barrel roll, and the double attack, he is quite good against phantoms too. He is not a turret, but he is very fine.
Biggs work as the meatshield for the first turns (like always), R4-D6 encourages you to be very agressive against low ship count lists, since you can use Biggs as another cannon, and don't be to afraid of range bands with him. Wedge, just because he is solid, specially if you are already playing Biggs, there is no reason not to take him if you have the points imho.
My biggest fear are probably swarms, but luckily for me, they are not very played in my zone.
So, what is your list featuring Corran and in game experiences with it ?

My favorite Corran build is fire control system, R2-D2, shield upgrade, and marksmanship with 4 tala squadron pilots. I've played four games with it and it has performed very well with no losses. Corran took down a firespray's shields and started chewing into the hull with a single double tap in one of the games. I managed to stack two console fires on the poor bounty hunter. I mostly play Imperials, but Corran is turning into my favorite rebel pilot.

I'm not sure on R4-D6 put on Biggs, Crits will ruin your day and the X-Wing explodes quite fast.

Fcs, ptl, r2 astromech

Been doing some good with him.

I have been running

Corran, FCS PTL R2

Biggs

rookie

bandit

99pts

won 2 games out of 4, with it. one game i totally failed with maneuvering just about everyone the second was a really close game that came down to the rookie Vs han in the falcon. thought about running the new ptl mod on corran and using the last point to give him VI, i so need an outrider at PS10 initiative is less of an issue.

Corran + Push the Limit + R2-D2 + Shield Upgrade + Fire Control System (48 pts)

Chewbacca + Millenium Falcon + Draw Their Fire + C-3PO + Gunner (52 pts)

A very strong build...

I much prefer r5p9 on corran instead of r2d2. take a good double shot, then book the hell out with your 5 straight and use focus to get the shields back. doesn't limit you to greens on your off turn and is a point cheaper, which can sometimes be a big deal.

Yeah, i would like to beef more my corran, but i just dislike playing falcons. I don't prefer r5p9 Corran has a lot of good greens, that's why R2 is quite good with him. I prefer to use the action for something else. And on a PtL build, it is just flat out better.

About R4-D6. Crits hurt you no matter what. It is just one point, and makes shooting biggs point blank quite annoying most part of the time.

Corran, EU, R2 unit, PtL and either Adv. Sensors or Fire Control.

He is fast, highly maneuverable and packs a punch.

Add back up as you think best.

I've been doing quite well with:

Corran: PTL + R2 Unit + Advanced sensors + Engine Upgrade

Chewbacca: Elusiveness + Falcon + C3P0 + Gunner

Both ships become difficult to hit, and Chewie can constantly harass ships while Corran cleans up the stragglers.

Corran + sensor jammer + predator 52

cracken 19

Wes 29

total 100

call it can't touch this, kinda a goof off casual list but I like it

Corran + PTL + FCS + R2 Astromech

+

Han Solo + VI + Gunner + Engine Upgrade + C3PO

:)

Ran a couple games with

Wedge 29

Engine upgrade 4

Kracken 19

Vet instincts 1

Corran horn 35

Dagger squadron 12

It was supposed to be an anti phantom list, krackens veteran instincts let horn barrel roll to a better place if need be. I've changed it up a bunch since including removing the E wing all together. I'm looking forward to the yt2400 I'll be running wedge with stay on target, maybe horn will make it in as his wingman

I run Corran alongside a Super Falcon:

Han Solo (46)

Veteran Instincts (1)

Gunner (5)

C-3PO (3)

Engine Upgrade (4)

Falcon Title (1)

(60)

Corran Horn (35)

Veteran Instincts (1)

R7 Astromech (2)

Fire-Control System (2)

(40)

I use Corran as an aggressor and decoy that pings the shields off of enemies or takes a TIE or two away from the Swarm while i use Han as a flanker. That strategy usually throws people off and it's worked well for me so far. The R7 and FCS allow Corran to fly

defensively for a turn increasing his survivability and granting him a reroll during his second attack.

Nice nice, keep em coming.

Corran

R5-P9

Fire-Control System

40

Biggs

R5-P9

28

Kyle Katarn

Ion Caonnon Turret

Recon Specialist

Moldy Crow

32

Kyle goes santa claus with handing out focus wherever need, ionizes threats I don't wanna deal with, Biggs protects Kyle and shoots whatever passes his way. Corran goes big game hunting with his double tap (with 2nd tap target lock) and recovers all shields lost.

3 games played. 3 won.

This is my favorite list right now.

Corran - Marksman, FCS, R2-D2

Luke - R5-P9

Gemmer Sojan - Chardaan Refit, Test Pilot, Stealth, Expert Handling

The idea is that your opponent will want to focus Corran since he does the most damage, but he gets out of dodge every other turn and recharges shields in the meantime, so focusing him will be very very difficult.

But your alternative options are just as terrible. Sojan is rolling up to 7 evasion dice and shedding target locks.

And Luke is his normal impossible to quickly kill self.

One thing is for sure, you do not want either Luke or Corran around at the end of the game. There just aren't enough attacks around late-game to take them down. Conveniently, this gives you a nice advantage against falcon lists as well - low numbers of attacks.

Horn PTL Adv sensors R2

Take two actions and clear your stress in same turn.

Edit: Mixed Ethan with Horn >.<

I don't think you can take 2 R5 p9

Like always say, try it, and you could change all the stuuf that you don't use, for others ships, greettings

Just started using the following build and its working very well so far, and is great fun to play.

Corran Horn (35)
R7-T1 (3)
Stealth Device (3)
Kyle Katarn (21)
Blaster Turret (4)
Recon Specialist (3)
Moldy Crow (3)
Biggs Darklighter (25)

Total: 100

Corran Horn + Veteran Instincts + Engine Upgrade + R2-D2 + Fire-Control System (46)

Dash Rendar + Push the Limit + Heavy Laser Cannon + Recon Specialist + Engine Upgrade (53)

I think this list could be really interesting.

Corran Horn + veteran instincts (36 pts) + 5x Z95 (60 pts) leaves 4 pts for upgrades.

Either engine or r2d2 on Corran or even upgrade to 4x Tala.

You could even drop 1 bandit and have 12 extra points for an extra beefy Corran on top of having 4x Tala's without losing too much of the theme. Even if I probably would prefer having 5x Z95. :)

You´re right - not a huge deal as a Blaster Turret on Kyle lets my put R2-D2 on Corran instead. :-)
