Block Three Pyron.

By Monkey D. Wolfwood, in UFS Deck Building

A guy in my play group wanted to make Pyron, so I decided to make it block three.

..Pyron..

3x 2/5 Yang's Sneakers +2M

4x 2/5 Kung-Fu Training +1M

4x 5/3 Crushing Embrace of the Jotun
4x 5/3 Cleave +0M
4x 4/3 Midnight Launcher
4x 4/3 Leg Slash +2H B:2

4x 1/4 Manifest Destiny +1L
4x 1/5 Brooding +3H
4x 1/6 Blinding Rage +1M
4x 2/4 Fight or Flight +2M
4x 2/5 Quest for Vengeance +1M
4x 2/5 Intimidating Presence
4x 3/4 Bitter Rivals +2M
4x 4/4 No Memories +3M

All attacks work with Pyron's enhance but no form of card draw with the symbol chosen. Side board would probably be Soul Wave and some more of help. Any suggestions are helpful.

Not gonna lie dude, I'm inspired.

things to consider...

-Yang's Sneakers, unfortunately, do not have an attack side. As such, you don't really need them. Easily replaced by Olcadan's Mentoring or Gianzende Nova and Frischer Himmel.
-Lose Upper Claw for Mighty Knee Strike. I love Upper Claw, but MKS is a throw, and has immense chainability with Crushing Embrace and other copies of itself.
-If you could get your hands on some Knight Breakers, that'd be cool.

If you're going with Fire, you're missing some things

-You're missing Bitter Rivals. This card has virtually become a staple, and while I understand you're trying to keep a Death-Fire theme, only your attacks need to be Death Fire.
-If your deck is going to remain this aggressive, that's fine, but definitely add in those Mighty Knee Strikes to up your Throw game to 8. Also, I'd replace Hungry for Battle with Fight or Flight (gives you a block) and lose Commitment to Excellence for Savage Fighter (better boost IMO). This will undeniably up your offensive game, and make a series of Jotun-Knee-Launcher look scary as Hell!
-Your deck needs draw, something Fire unfortunately doesn't have much of. Look into Gianzende Nova and Frischer Himmel, Bloodied but Unbowed or Relentless.
-While Adoration is good, Quest for Vengeance is better. All of your attacks (sans Upper Claw, which ought to be replaced by Mighty Knee Strike) have a speed of 3 or less, which means that the more Quest for Vengeance you have out, the more speed your attacks will get.

Hope it helps dude.

I would use Mighty Knee Strike but its an ultra that i cant seem to come by. Quest sounds good for adoration. Maybe Bitter in place of commitment? and fight or flight in place of hungry for battle. thanks for the suggestions, any other suggestions?

Well, if you just cannot get Mighty Knee Strike, I'll leave this up to you, but I'd suggest Cleave.

Cleave has a better block, and more important, a better check. I know it's a 5, but you check relatively well.

also not to point out the obvious... but you're at 57 cards...

56 including Pyron, 55 excluding Pyron.

Uh...add in 2 German Hilde Spears, and lose 1 of your foundations (not really important) for 3 Savage Fighter

A Year's Difference is Fire's best draw mechanic this block, so far...

I have 2 "A Years Difference" so i can add those in but i would maybe cut down No Memories to 3? and maybe add in a four set of Savage Fighter. Thanks for the suggestions, and i totally spaced on the number of cards.

Something to consider: Not everything truly deserves playsets. Some cards (such as Bitter Rivals, Brooding) are just fine in fewer numbers.
