Career skills with new specializations

So when you purchase a new specialization you get the skills that come with that specialization. However if you purchase a new specialization from a different career, do you get the base eight career skills as well? Let's say I was a Commodore and I purchase Commando, I know I get Brawl, Melee, Resilience, and Survival. Do I get Athletics, Brawl, Knowledge (Warfare), Medicine, Melee, Ranged (Light), Ranged (Heavy, and Survival as well?

A) you only get the 4 that are with that specific specialization, regardless of the career it comes from.

B) this has been asked quite a few times since the game came out. There's a search bar right at the top of the page.

A) No, you don't. This is one of those things that makes your initial career choice important (it provides 2/3 of your inexpensive skills).

B) There is a search bar, but if you've been around long enough to know that it's been asked several times, you probably know that the search bar is often the worst way to find the answer to your question. It's much easier to ask a simple question and get a simple answer.

Kallabecca has it right. When you pick a new Specialization, you only get to count those for Career skills from the specialization as Career skills. You only get the 8 Career skills from the Career when you first make your character.

In this example, starting as a Commodore and adding Commando, you only get Brawl, Melee, Resilience, and Survival as known career skills when you purchase Commando. You do NOT get Athletics, Brawl, Knowledge (Warfare), Medicine, Melee, Ranged (Light), Ranged (Heavy), and Survival. Note that you don't gain any free skill points, only the access to spend XP on the skills as Career skills.

I hope this helps.
