FFG, however, was well-managed, line moved quickly, plenty of stock, and they even handed out mini-card games to play in line with other shoppers to help pass the time.
That's really awesome, that shows they really care about their customers, and creating a fun atmosphere around their game/s.
My only brush with their customer service was when a peg on my plastic stand for the Tie Advanced came broken. I e-mailed them and they sent me two new stands by mail, they didn't even ask for a picture. And it was delivered fast too. I was really impressed how hassle free it was. That really makes me feel safe buying from them.
That's what I love about X-Wing though. The players "fly casual" and FFG "flies casual" too. We have a great game on our hands with a fantastic community, a very rare thing in a tournament based game.
FFG encourages us to be a good community both through their business model, and the fact that the tournaments are fun, but winning them is not essential. I'm not sure why anyone would want to deal with Wizkids or the type of player communities they have historically created with their business and tournament prize models.
