Possible Wave 4 tournament list

Here is a wave 4 tournament list that does well against phantoms, and against falcons. Initially I was looking for an imperial based list revolving around a firespray with a mini swarm, but I found that the humble y wing fills the role of the phantom counter better than the firespray. So I tinkered with some builds I found online and ended up with a build that Theorist posted on Team Covenant which was 2 adv sensor, hlc, engine upgraded b wings and an engine upgraded, ion turret y wing. It flew very well against falcon lists as expected, and i went about 50/50 vs phantom lists. My issue was if the phantom player target prioritized well the y wing could be dead before it can get a shot on a phantom due to it being a gold squadron pilot. So I considered my options (specifically the same list with roark instead of a y wing), but I felt it came up short due to the fact that low ps pilots just aren't that good at repositioning. Anyways here is what I came up with:

Horton Salm

  • R2D6
  • Veteran Instincts
  • Ion Cannon Turret
  • Flechette Torpedos
  • Engine Upgrade

Airen Cracken

  • Ion Pulse Missile
  • Veteran Instincts

Tala Squadron Pilot (x3)

So let me know what you think! If someone has already posted this please let me know as I don't want to steal anyone's thunder... I am fairly locked in to the Horton and Airen, but I am unsure about my upgrade choices, specifically taking Talas over Bandits and an engine on Airen (Horton wouldn't get torps).

What? Who the heck is talking about wave 4 these days, or even playing the game for that matter? That's clearly not what these forums are for.

Can you give Airen Cluster Missiles though, he will get to use his ability for each attack on the cluster so 2 of the Tala's get TL+focus.

I don't see any reason why not - the CM card is worded that you perform 2 attacks, and Cracken's ability says "after you perform an attack"

so unless it's bee FAQed otherwise you get his ability twice

I'm a z mini swarm kinda guy so I think you've got a pretty good list here. I'd look into adding squad leader to airen if you can. That let's you hand out more even free options.

Also something to think about when you play that list is I'm going to come after that y and try to sink those points quickly and try to duke it out with z's

Overall I like it but I think I would drop engine upgrade (-4) roll the talas down to bandits (-3) add squad leader (+2) and Add either concussion or assault missiles to one of the bandits. (+5). And that bandit with missiles will use free actions from airen to target lock focus missile slam whatever sucker was just ioned by Horton. (Bad day for your opponent)

I ran something close to it but it was an 88 pt challenge

All 3 are PS10 thus move after and shoot decloacked Phantoms, If in arc Horton Flechetted them otherwise used turret you could drop MF and have 13 pts to play with
