It is a new game with an entire new game system. Every card and piece is played differently. Where in X-wing you directly control individual fighters and the occasional energy management with a single capital starship in epic. With Armada you move entire squadrons and huge ships to include possibly the Super Star Destroyer and Mon Calamari Star Defender which would be too large to play in X-wing but would not have the level of micro management such as energy management.
I'm not quite that far down toward the base of the planet, but close enough. My friend on the other hand... well yeah, he gets snow and has had occasion to see an iceberg. And we both live in the same country... go figure.
It will be a long wait.
I'm itching for some new info. After all the goodness demoed at GenCon, where's a new Armada article? I want to know more about the core set. I want details about wave 1. Come on FFG, hook some gamers up!
