Imperial Assault scale

By Robin Graves, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Haha, just kidding! I'm not gonna complain about the scale! Because they got it right! This game looks awesome!

Oh look:

"One player commands the armed forces of the Galactic Empire, while up to four others play as heroes of the Rebellion, engaging in covert operations and missions. Both the forces of the Empire and the Rebel heroes gain new skills and items throughout the campaign, allowing characters to develop and grow as the story unfolds."

And it DOESN'T REQUIRE AN APP! Yes! see FF, it's not that hard is it?

Now make XCOM like this!

I was getting a bit sick of all the star wars games comming out these days* - and now this thing has me with just the box art alone...

Now let the wild mass guessing about possible upcomming expansions/ ally-villain packs/ possible 3d factions and prices commence!**

* seriously is FF trying to pump out more star wars related stuff than Disney?

** I'm calling Tauntauns, Hutts, Wampa's and Ewoks!

A RANCOR!

FF if you get us a Rancor, i'll cry like a Rancor-keeper when i get one!

To be honest, I am looking forward to the XCOM game and am actually kinda of excited to see how well the integration with the App works. I think this sort of integration has good potential for future analog/digital gaming cross-overs (especially co-op games where you play against the board).

And as far as scale goes, yeah, I don't think it really matters in this sort of game. It's not a straight miniature game so there is no point in getting all bent out of shape over it. Just so long as the figures are "close enough" (and already I want an AT-AT)

Maybe one day we can link the games together:

mission 1: infiltrate the imperial base and steal a lamba class shuttle. (played in imperial assault)

mission 2: link up with x wing escorts and avoid imperial tie fighter patrols (played as x-wing)

mission 3: use teh captured shuttle to enter and sabotage a stardestroyer during a battle (played as armada)

Mission 0: maybe you can base the minis on your character from the age of rebellion RPG...

That would all be totally possible with what FFG is making here. Sure, you would have to jump between different rulesets, but you could do an epic marathon Star Wars game event exactly as you described (maybe even throw in the LCG for good measure). And with FFG creating original art assets for all their Star Wars stuff all the products have a unified look and "feel" to them.

Honestly graves a krayt dragon and some gamoreans would make me happy, maybe some ewoks for my kids.

Also a rancor would get special place on the shelf

This sounds like a great time.
