The Star Viper is from Shadows of The Empire

It is the main ship that Prince Xizor uses, and in the game is capable of firing "bombs" which act more like missiles or torpedoes than a bomb in this game does. They seem fairly nimble and take more hits from the Outrider than a tie fighter does. \

The IG 2000 is IG 88's ship, and it seems pretty cool, but I'm not too familiar with it.

I feel like we need to celebrate this 3rd faction/Wave 6 announcement with a lot of champagne to go around for supporters and naysayers alike.

To expand further, the StarViper is a high performance vessel that early on, only had one model- The Virago, owned by Prince Xizor. After that, others were produced at a slightly lesser quality.

The IG-2000 is a unique vessel designed by IG-88. This means his copies will likely be pilots. It is essentially a very large starfighter, and does not have life support on board. Its performance tends to match or surpass that of many starfighters as well, but it IS a very large target compared to say, X-Wings.

The M3-A Scyk is a fighter flown but mercenaries and thugs hired by Hutts. Mobilized frequently alongside the Dunelizard and Kimogila starfighters, medium and heavy, the light M-3A Scyk is an agile and fairly formidable vessel in its own right, but it is also extremely easy to destroy.

Also, in Empire At War: Forces of Corruption the IG-2000 was capable of corrupting ships in an AOE that caused them to have a decreased accuracy and damage with weapon systems and Star Vipers were equipped with Buzz Droids that would rip through a ship's hull.

EaW suffers from video-game-mechanics syndrome, though. The IG-2000 did have an ion cannon and tractor beam, at least.

I could see the S&V faction having a 'buzz droid' minefield, though. After all, the EAW game with the Virago indicates it carries buzz-droids, and the S&V faction also gets the 'Slave 1'...one of the few other ships in the game to carry bombs/mines, so...

While this was mostly game mechanics, it'll probably happen either way. The Z-95 came with XWA's ion pulse missiles, so... Yeah.

Technically, the Virago was a one-off and MandalMotors made the StarViper as a mass-production version. Depending on the source the IG-2000 is either a heavily-modified Trilon Aggressor(which there's one other known plot for) or a unique ship.
