Conversion kits for the Firespray/HWK means...

By Sparklelord, in X-Wing

There's precedent inbound for releasing cards for ships in packs that don't correspond to the models.

That was a convoluted sentence, so let me rephrase it:

They're going to be giving you cards that correspond to different ships when you buy certain expansion packs.

So apart from what this means, confirmed, for the Firespray and the HWK, what's coming?

-The Firespray didn't need much of a buff. Maybe a lower PS that has an EPT, and better abilities for the top PS. PS 9 for Boba would be cool, too, but that might be asking a lot.

-The HWK has great support abilities for the Rebels. Will it do the same for the Scum & Villainy? (How will it be different?) Will the "Most Wanted" pack finally add on some different turret upgrades? (Hopefully.)

But that sort of speculation isn't what I really want to bite into too deeply here.

The questions I want to throw out are, since we will have ships that are going to be shared between factions, will we see similar crossovers between Rebel/Imperial? Will we finally be able to have Biggs flying a TIE, and other similar thoughts?

Will the same pilot fly a different ship for the same faction? Will Maarek be freed from the "never used except in that one mission from the Tantive IV campaign that makes you" category?

(There's nothing stopping it now...)

Edited for errors.

Has there been an announcement somewhere? I keep seeing threads about hwks and firesprays but I've yet to see anything from FFG.

Part of the slide that says:

Most Wanted (includes conversions for "Slave-I" and the "HWK-290")

Why would Wedge be flying a TIE?

Why would Wedge be flying a TIE?

They're easy to hotwire? It's from the EU.

Why would Wedge be flying a TIE?

That would be because I meant Biggs.

Why would Wedge be flying a TIE?

Ewoks did it Yavin.

Why would Wedge be flying a TIE?

Per the X-wing books, he is very proficient in them, though not as good as Tycho, who was an actual Imperial pilot before his defection.

I'm excited for the HWK rehaul...I'm curious what exactly a conversion means, though. New pilots/upgrades, or simply a new ship base/pilot card? Either way, if a third faction did happen (which it did) was curious how they would treat the loosely affiliated pilots.

Very interesting....

If they started to do cross imperial/rebel pilots/ships then I would safely say X-Wing jumped the shark (huh I wonder what kind of dial the shark has).

Sharing ships like the Slave I and HWK is believable enough and fixes a problem about lack of options for a new faction. The second there are imperial x-wings and rebel Tie fighters is the moment I sell my X-Wing and move on.

EDIT: I think we will get a mix of things in the "conversions". Probably faction limited pilot cards, a number of limited upgrades and a few "fixer" upgrades for everyone.

I would figure there really had to be something unique about the new faction for it to work, heck even the uniqueness of rebel/empire is starting to get muddy with ships like the z-95.
