Tactical jammer... wow?

By Kepler, in X-Wing

Im thinking -

Tactical jammer on a falcon, Biggs with Stealth device + a support ship. Could be Hawk + Jan Ors which would allow a focus to be converted into an evade on Biggs, making him 4 defense dice + an evade token. Draw their fire on the falcon to save Biggs from a crit.

My list-ish:

Chewie Falcon

Draw their Fire

Gunner

Biggs

Stealth Device

Vanilla Hawk

Jan Ors

Blaster turret

Please tear this apart :-)

Idea is to fly Biggs + Hawk in tight formation behind the falcon, or Biggs far flank (with Hawk within range 1) to absorb all incoming fire. In the mean time the 2 turrets cause as much havoc as possible with Biggs adding his 3 attack dice where he can...

The major limitation is that "as much as possible" turns out to be "not much". It's a list with three attacks per turn, at relatively low PS, and one of those is a Blaster Turret (which means, in this context, it'll always be attacking with unmodified dice).

You'll be a tough opponent for a TIE swarm, but there are lots of lists out there that will still wear you down pretty effectively--anything with an HLC, for starters.

Sure - but its 2-3 attacks EVERY turn. Obviously not 100% bulletproof (but what is?). Just thought it could be advantageous to really push the Biggs meta as far as possible.

Couldn´t you use a target Lock to reroll the Blaster Turret?

I'd go something like:

Biggs Darklighter (25)
R2-F2 (3)
Experimental Interface (3)
Outer Rim Smuggler (27)
Intelligence Agent (1)
Navigator (3)
Tactical Jammer (1)
Ibtisam (28)
Elusiveness (2)
Sensor Jammer (4)
Hull Upgrade (3)
Total: 100
This, provided you get Biggs behind the ORS at all times, gives Biggs 4 evade dice and a focus, the ORS gets to block and Ibtisam is as slippery as ever, though you could drop the hull upgrade for a crew such as Dash, Han or Leebo.
Do not take Leebo.
You might take Nien Nunb to help clear stress.

you can use target lock, but you need to have the focus to fire again I believe, as the car says you need a focus to fire. Check the FAQs though. you would want the hwk not behind, as the range of the turret is only range 2.

Why would you need a focus to use the target lock? It's not another attack. You only need a focus to fire, if you have a target lock you get a reroll.

Well that's blatantly obvious. But reading LukesFather's comment, it sounded like he assumed you needed another focus for the reroll as well.

How is this about Tactical Jammer at all ? I don't even see it in your offered list.

If only there was a way to get Intimidation + Tactical Jammer + Enhanced Scopes on a ship. What a fun battering ram that would make :)

I dunno, listening to Nova Squadron today they talked about the 2-falcon 6 attack dice build with basically no offensive upgrades that came in second at Nationals. Seems to me that the right build can do a lot, even with limited dice.

That said, I tried working out something like this and I think the range on the Blaster Turret is the real issue. It is going to be nigh on impossible to keep Everyone positioned so they take advantage of the jammer, Biggs, and the blaster turret.

Interesting, I am actually going to be taking this list for a spin tonight hopefully:

Chewy + Gunner + C-3PO + MF Title

Biggs

Roark + ICT

Fairly simple should keep Chewy around to the late game where he can tank and gives me options to deal with Phantoms also. Then to round it out ICT can do some work locking ships pout of action for a turn or 2.

Let's see how popular Ruthlessness is...

Can we keep this to learning about tactical jammer... Plz?

haha yeah everyone seems to be leaving Tactical Jammer off the lists. Back to the OP I'd be curious to try running Biggs like this just to see if it works. It'd certainly be annoying but there seems to be a lot of stuff in wave 5 to stop this such as Ion Torpedoes and Ruthlessness

Try the new card "body guard". Spend a focus to up the evade value of a higher PS friendly at range 1.

So, say you have Biggs with r2-f2, stealth device, and buffed by obstruction from tac jam and bodyguard.

Have kyle toss a few focuses at the Biggs and bam, an unstoppable horror. Feel ashamed :P

Hmm would that work with Chewie and Biggs running VI? otherwise you're limited to the ORS, Wild Space Fringer or Eaden

Unfortunately, Bodyguard is Scum only.
