NEW FACTION Confirmed!! Suck it Naysayers!! (J/K)

By Papamambo, in X-Wing

I thought I liked star wars alot. Scum and Villainy just makes me think of that Obi Wan quote. Is this group from the novels, the old mmo? Help a guy who saw the first movie in the theater in '77 make some sense of why I should be excited. Thanks in advance.

It's not just one group, so much as the entire rest of the galaxy .

As noted in the other thread...

As the prequels made clear - the Galaxy isn't evenly split into "Rebel" and "Imperial" systems. Indeed, there are HUGE swaths of it (the entire outer rim) where the concept of centrally managing the systems is basically unrealistic.

The thing that made 'Star Wars' so interesting WAS those gray areas. The 'wretched hives of scum and villainy' that lurk in every corner. The distant systems where the Empire and Rebellion are all 'such a long way from here'.

Indeed, MOST of the Star Wars setting would fall into this category, so...we've previously been focused on a rather small portion of it. This gives us a part of the rest of it!

That's what I always liked about the setting, was how much background there was OUTSIDE of the simple 'Rebels vs Empire' fight. Entire cartels of criminals going about their business (such as the Hutt's - whose hold on the outer rim was so strong that Republic credits "were no good here", as Watto argued), systems joining some alliances or others, trade organizations, corporations owning entire planets and systems, unexplored regions...

It's a big, big galaxy, and the Rebellion and Empire were only ever a portion of it!

I go with "Sick" over "Skik" cause

Sc=Morph the S and the C together.

Just seems to sound better to me.

Well now I'm just imagining the Scyks barfing everywhere. Scyk.png

This by the way, is the Scyk. The animal.

I am actually playing SWG again. I remember how much i hated scyks when i was a newbye lol.

I was under the impression that sony closed all the servers

They did but there is a server up by some enterprising individuals of a version before they ruined the game.

I have no clue as to the legality, but I know it exists.

When they add Jump to Lightspeed, I'll go back.

Indeed, yes, and it'll be great to use our games to tell the stories of that wild Outer Rim.

So in other words Gen Con is going like this

We want big imp ships FFG gives us Armada

We wonder if there is gonna be more ships for the IMPS FFG gives us Imperial Assault

We still wonder about new ships and big Imp ships FFG gives another faction and repaints

I wonder what Saturday and Sunday will bring?

Their panel appears to be over but who knows.

Well, yeah - FFG's conference/panel is over, wave 6 was the big announcement, but GenCon is still going on I guess. I doubt we'll see anything else revealed now, but who knows, the show ain't over until the chubby Twi'lek dances...

.... Did anyone else notice the Star Viper expansion is $19.95? And Need for LightSpeed: Most Wanted was $35.95?

Why must they leave me wallet empty?

Wave 7 prediction: Indentured Servitude

Most Wanted is $39.95, actually. Sorry (for your wallet) =P

Why is the IG-2000 29.95?

It's a "large" ship/base. For some reason. Maybe FFG is insane?

I dunno, unless it comes with some REALLY amazing upgrade cards...I mean, that's a hideous ship...

I'll get a micro machines version of it before I pay that for one ship that isn't even as big as the Falcon?
