What would be really cool is if we got some rules to add the armada game into the RPG.
A quickie FFG's Big Announcment @ Gencon question
Duh... I just got to this. Guess I was too impatient. Forget my previous request...
And all the cool revolves around miniatures. I am a frowny face...
Yeah, I was kind of shocked that there wasn't a "Hey, we've got these pending books!" announcement. Not even that Starfighter Aces sourcebook we saw a corner of in the background of that one video. Oh well, I guess we have two more days for announcements, so there might be more news.
Edited by DesslokIt looks like the Assault Frigate is a Mark II, the blurring the in the picture seems to make it appear like a 3.
This is the ship:

It's a larger rebel frigate. So right now, the Imperials have 2 ships, the Rebels 3, with various starfighters as well.
My wallet will be so lonely, but my shelves will be overcrowded. So wonderfully, beautifully overcrowded.
Might as well put all the cool in one place:
I'm completely without anyone I trust can interpret the cool for what it is... much as she tried. And I'm unable to see the pictures. I hate to need help but I don't want to wait till I can get it from my broother or dad tomorrow! Can someone explain the cool for me???
There are some pictures of the ships in Wave 1 of the Armada game, which are a couple star destroyer types, a Nebulon and a CR-90 and some fighter squadrons along with a Type 3 assault frigate, whatever that is.
I haven't seen it so I could be very wrong but I'm guessing the Type three assault frigate is a new FFG created ship probably in the sil 7 cruiser range. WEG and Saga both had the Mark one Assault Frigates which were Dreadnaught class Cruisers that the Alliance pretty much completely rebuilt to both increase their firepower, and especially to decrease the crew requirements. (Standard Dreadnaughts needed 16,000 crew. Mark one Assault Frigates needed 5,000 between crew and gunners.) Mark two Assault frigates were introduced in Empire at War and also appeared in Saga and were newly built ships similar to Mark one Assault frigates but they required a slightly smaller crew, carried a slightly different weapons array, and more advanced Mon Calamari designed shielding. (In Saga the two ships had the same base shield rating but the Mark two's shields regained more lost power when recharged.)
I was shocked when neither the Mark one nor the Mark two appeared in the Age of Rebellion Core book but that makes a lot more sense if FFG is planning to introduce a Mark three.
Edit: Sorry missed the posts about it being a Mark II at first.
