Rebel Captive is really a nice add though...
Rebel Captive is great against phantoms, stops that annoying recloak.

I'd go with 4 Academies. The 4th support shot will help with the loss of predator and you 3 more hullpoints and extra options to your squad.

Falcon + 2 X-wings/2 B-wings/3 Z-95s has been a thing for long enough. I don't see why Kenkirk, with Isaard and Rebel Captive wouldn't be survivable enough to work with two escorts.

2 escorts with b wings is also another 14-16 durability (can't remember if its 4 or 5 shields)
2 ties is just 6 hull, it's very easy to see a couple bad defense rolls kill both the escorts, and then its a single 3 die attack each turn after.
on the bright side though you can sacrifice your failing green dice to the gods since you won't need that many after that
Give Kenkirk Determination for that last point.

Yes, you absolutely need determination on Kenkirk. You don't want to risk him losing his pilot ability from a bad critical hit!

I would drop that third BSP down to an academy and give Kirk Determination and gunner... after that it should be a solid enough list.

Nope! The name is awesome.
All you need to do is add Determination and the squad is ready to go!
The Black Squadron Pilots are the glass cannons, they will probably die first. But Kenkirk is a tank, and ideally you want him to survive until the end game anyway.
Determination seems like an obvious choice after reading your feedback.
I'm thinking about keeping all three TIEs for starters because when Decimator is released my opponents will want to shoot that down (and that 0 agility will fool them at first) and in the meantime the three TIEs will wreak havoc.
They can rely on Predator and keep evading. (Or should they focus with 3 greens?)
The Gunner thing from Rakky will need to be taken into consideration though.

Gunner and Tactical Jammer seem a bit superfluous. Lots you could do with those 6 points. I would likely switch Gunner for Dauntless + (whatever).
No way. The 2 Tie Advanced squad is much better. You can't stuff any more awesome into a list than that.
I'm more worried about asteroids for the VT to be honest. And Gunner removes need for Dauntless as you won't need an action. If I could put Dash Rendar on the VT, I'd do it.
In the Howl list, the Tactical Jammer should help a bit to absorb some fire for Howl.
Also, Gunner has been showing up in tons of lists more and more due to its simple high consistency of damage. Falcons of course, but then in The winning Nationals list, and for me, a surprisingly agonizing loss to a 40 pt shuttle with HLC, Gunner, FCS, and EU.
Flew two interceptors around the other side, to force me to engage them, got caught in the back with the boosting shuttle. And then game over from there with the damage and good blocking skill by my opponent. Completely blocked off my B-wing with HLC.
