Hi there i have a question about the before combat on some of the adventure cards.Do you do the before combat again even though you have not won the fight the first time round. What i mean is say for eg you get the adventure card say its the The drowned you do the before combat and made the roll to swim then you say defend in range, attack in melee and defend in magic it has some wounds left. Do you do the before combat again for this adventure in your next turn when you face it again.?

No, you only do before combat once for the entire fight. First you resolve the Challenge card before combat text, then you use any before combat abilities you want or are able to and then it goes into repeated rounds of escape/ranged/melee/magic.

Also of note: You can only use ONE Before Combat ability per battle. So if your hero has a Before Combat ability and he also has 2 allies and 5 different items with Before Combat abilities, you must choose one and only one to use each time. The monster can also use one before combat ability, which is generally all it will have access to anyway.

actually, your hero can use his BC ability once, each of the allies can use a BC ability once and you can only use one "activate-to-use" BC item, The discard to use is not subject to a limit, only the activates.
